The Flowers are one of the titular characters featured in the 1932 Silly Symphonies short Flowers and Trees.
Background[]
The flowers consist of daisies and bell-shaped flowers featured throughout the forest. Most of the daisies often show a happy personality whenever they dance to the music, such as the case of the Boy Tree attracting the Lady Tree to be her love interest. However, they are shown to be fearful whenever a fire occurs across the forest, especially when it is the case of the Old Man Tree who causes a wildfire across the forest. When the Boy Tree fell in love with the Lady Tree, the flowers even supported them during their wedding, as well as the other trees who also attend their wedding.
Role in the short[]
A group of daisies is first seen waking up in the morning, followed by two bell-shaped flowers wake up during the morning, followed by mushrooms that also wake up in the morning. Three more daisies are seen washing themselves on a puddle while several yellow daisies dance along together. Later, when the Boy Tree is attracting the Lady Tree's attention, more daisies continue to circle her as they dance around her happily. The daisies then take the Lady Tree to her love interest as the all form a heart and as he places them in the form of a crown just before she approaches the Old Man Tree, just as the Lady Tree and the daisies react in shock. During a battle against the Old Man Tree, one of the bell-shaped flowers stands on top of his body, thinking that he is dead, but manages to get back up, causing the flower standing on him to react in fear.
After the Old Man Tree grabs a stick and later twists it on a log to cause a wildfire across the forest, the bell-shaped flowers stare at the fire as they sound an alarm, as they shake themselves to alert everyone in the forest that there is a fire, followed by an owl hooting to sound the alarm, just as the flowers work together to put out the fire. However, unaware of this, the fire the Old Man Tree caused began to burn him, setting him on fire, just as he disappears during the wildfire where he is later revealed to have been killed during the fire, followed by a flock of birds poking through the clouds to emit a rain to extinguish the fire caused by the Old Man Tree.
After the fire, a group of daisies use the bell-shaped flowers as a wedding bells to announce the wedding of the Boy Tree and the Lady Tree while the Tree Conductor conducts a flock of robins to sing. The flowers all then celebrate their wedding altogether as the other trees happily react to their kiss.
