"For Whom the Belle Trolls" is the first segment of the fifteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hamster & Gretel.
On February 8, 2023, the episode was released early on Disney+.
Synopsis[]
A social media influencer threatens to destroy Hamster and Gretel's reputation.
Plot[]
After Hamster and Gretel save the city from a disgruntled baker bent on delivering "divorce cakes", they are confronted with two young girls who accuse them of hating toddlers and being bullies. They soon learn that social media influencer Belle is spreading misinformation about them and editing videos of their heroic deeds to paint them in a negative light. Kevin helps the heroes clear their names while Bailey and Fred attempt to prove Belle's wrongdoings to the police. However, the latter results in the police calling for Hamster and Gretel's arrest for being criminals while allowing a bank robber they attempted to turn in to run rampant. Later when accessing Belle's blog, Fred discovers the site is blocked by several encrypted passwords and will take forever unless they have a million people, causing Bailey to realize how to retrieve the evidence and begins calling for help.
Many bouts of slander later, Hamster and Gretel appear on a talk show with Belle, where the heroes continue their efforts to prove their innocence. Unfortunately, Belle's continual pressure wears them down, eventually escalating to video footage of the attempted arrest. Gretel reluctantly admits to resisting arrest and is told to turn herself and Hamster in. However, Bailey, having gathered a group of Hamster and Gretel fans who never lost faith in them, manages to prove the heroes' innocence by showing the unedited footage of Belle's videos thanks to Fred's hacking skills. Belle is then arrested by the police and Gretel showers Bailey with gratitude for believing in her.
