Frederick R. "Fred" Newman is an American actor, voice actor, composer, comedian, sound effects artist, and former talk show host. He perhaps first gained national publicity as the host of the Nickelodeon talk show Livewire in the early 1980s. He has since provided several character voices and sounds in numerous films, television shows, and video games, including the PBS children's series Reading Rainbow.
For Disney, he voiced Stupid in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Skeeter Valentine, Bud Dink, Porkchop, Stinky, Ned Cauphee, Fentruck Stimmel, and other characters in Doug. He was also the adult co-host of the 1989 Disney Channel revival of The Mickey Mouse Club until he left by the mid-1990s.
Newman also wrote the song "The Great Big Book of Everything" for Stanley, along with Dan Sawyer. Additionally, he composed music for PB&J Otter.
