"Friend or FoeBot" is the second segment of the sixty-sixth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on January 22, 2018 alongside "Shoom Balla Boom", and is the second segment of the twelfth episode in the third season.
Plot[]
In the Zenith, Miles and Loretta say that Mission Force One's robot pets are playing hide and seek with Blodger. Zeno tells the team that they have a call from Tomorrowland. With everyone all present and accounted for, Admirals Watson and Crick assign them on their new mission: to stop sharp metal objects from hitting a city that floats just above the surface of the Volos moon. Miles accepts the mission, and the team suits up for it.
Mission Force One then uses their respective space jets. They try to use their Flash Beams to break apart the asteroids, but it doesn't work, because Loretta says that metal asteroids are much harder to shatter than rock ones. With two minutes remaining until the asteroids hit the moon, according to Haruna, Mirandos has an idea about pushing them off course. Miles likes the idea, and Mission Force One activates their jets' pulse rays. They deflect some asteroids from the moon, however, the others are heading for the moon's city.
In the city, the Volosians immediately realize what is going on. Governor Plink tells them that they must deal with the problem calmly and quietly, as is their way. One Volosian tells him that at least seven of the meteors will hit the city's balloons. Plink tells the defenders to shoot the meteors from the sky, however, they are too far away for them. Just then, Mission Force One's space jets deflect the rest of the asteroids from the city, and decide to introduce themselves. Loretta assumes that that is the most galactic city she has ever seen.
Miles tells M.E.R.C. that the city is safe and tells him to bring down the Zenith. Miles introduces himself and Mission Force One to the Volosians. Plink introduces himself. He says that the Volosians' city floats, as they use balloons to keep it afloat over the volcano, which is the only source of heat on Volos. Loretta decides to put it into the TTA's database. Mirandos mentions that the TTA is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, which is who Mission Force One works for. Miles brings up the TTA's mission about connecting the universe. Although the Volosians do not travel beyond Volos, Plink tells Mission Force One to consider them friends. After Plink says that it would be an honor, Miles officially welcomes the Volos moon to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. However, the Volosians try to avoid excitement, because a city held up by balloons requires a calm population. Otherwise, things can get a little shaky.
Afterwards, the Zenith arrives, and Mission Force One introduces the Volosians to the team's robot pets. Thinking they're dangerous, the Volosians run away. This is because Plink thinks that robots are very loud and zip around very fast. The Volosians are very afraid of robots. This is because they have met robots once before. They were on Volos a few days ago, and one of them was anything but calm. Plink then shows footage of Aggro teaming with defense orbs to take different samples of the city's ground from the Volosians, as Aggro is looking for staridium. Aggro won't know until he tests the samples in his labs. Plink orders the robots to leave immediately. Aggro warns Plink that if the moon has staridium in it, he'll be back.
Although told by Miles that not all robots are like Nemesystems robots, and that Mission Force One's robots are kind, and even though that TTA robots are nothing to be afraid of, Plink rejects it, as robots do not act calmly enough for them, as they must go. Miles tells Plink that if Volos won't accept robots, it won't be a good fit for the TTA, as Mission Force One is about connecting the universe, not separating it. The team and their robot pets then head back to the Zenith.
Miles tells the team that it isn't their fault, as Aggro just made the governor think that all robots are bad. They are missing out on how cool Mission Force One's robot pets really are. Loretta assumes that the governor will realize the truth someday. Just then, Zeno tells Mission Force One that a Nemesystems thundership is nearing the Volos moon. Loretta says that it's Aggro again. Mirandos says that if he found staridium in the rock samples he took, he'll be bringing trouble. Miles decides for the team to protect, even if they can't connect.
As the Zenith heads back to Volos, the Volosians see the bad robots, and Plink orders everyone to get inside. Aggro says that staridium is mixed all throughout the floating rock. Aggro tells Plink that Commander Nemex wants the Volosians to move somewhere else until Nemesystems is done on Volos. This is Aggro's orders. Plink says that the Volosians will stop Nemesystems from taking their home, while behaving very calmly. Mission Force One then arrives, and deactivates striker bots using their respective abilities. Aggro then sends in strikeships.
Afterwards, Mission Force One's robot pets, who are controlling the team's space jets, deactivate the strikeships, and Plink is impressed by it. The robot pets then join forces with Mission Force One. Miles tells Aggro to tell Commander Nemex to stay away from the Volosians, because if he doesn't, the TTA and their robot pets will be there waiting. Aggro then leaves.
Plink tells Mission Force One that they have taught the Volosians that all robots are not the same, and he promises never to judge anybody or any bot before he gets to know them. Miles then officially officially welcome the Volos moon to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Loretta says that the Volosians are connected to each and every one of the galaxy. Miles says that that is mission accomplished, and for once, it is okay for the Volosians to be excited, and they celebrate.
