"Frights, Camera, Action!" is the second segment of the twenty-third episode of the Disney Jr. animated series Vampirina. It premiered on August 24, 2018 alongside "Countess Vee".
Plot[]
Mr. Gore assigns the class a sign-up for the student film festival. It is a chance for them to show their filmmaking talents. Next week, the finished movies will be shown and the winner picked. After being told by Vampirina, Edgar decides to sign up for the film festival, as he sees this as a chance to take the skills he learned from Weekly Weirdness to the next level. He is confident he'll win the festival. Poppy and Bridget decide to be the crew, who help the director make the movie. Edgar planned to make the movie by himself, and accepts the help. He has an idea for a monster movie, as he knows a lot about monsters. Bridget is scared about it, though, but Edgar tells them that it'll be funny and full of action.
Meanwhile, Oxana and Boris prepare the food for the movie. Vampirina tells Demi about the movie, and Demi states that Edgar started making it already. He records Wolfie running around just as Vampirina and her crew arrive. Edgar states that he's used to making movies alone due to his nervousness about doing it differently. Edgar then accepts Vampirina and her crew's help. He then tells a story to everyone called "Night of the Haunted Hike", which is about some friends who go into the woods and run into a vampire. Vampirina states that not all vampires are scary. Edgar picks Poppy as the vampire, as it has to be scary. Vampirina and Poppy will be the hikers, and Gregoria will be the helpful troll they meet along the way.
The movie then begins. First, Wolfie jumps on Vampirina who was trying to pet him. Next, Gregoria states that the hikers need to beware of vampires, who love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Vampirina knows a perfect place to eat her and Bridget's supper. At night, Vampirina and Bridget state that they want to eat their supper, but mentions that the woods are haunted. Edgar likes it and the movie ends. He states that the finale will be shot tomorrow night. The final scene is one with the vampire. Edgar pictures it as Vampirina and Bridget enjoying their picnic when Poppy comes as the vampire and they have to act really scared. Then, Gregoria will come and give the vampire a peanut butter and jelly sandwich so that she vanishes into the woods and the day is saved. Everything is going well until he places Gregoria on his foot, hurting his foot and ruining everything, revealing Demi, as well.
Vampirina decides to do the scene again, but Edgar is doubtful of it. Although Poppy and Vampirina motivate him, Edgar suggests another director and quits. Vampirina states that it's not as bad as Edgar thinks, but when she shows the video again, she sees Demi appear, as well. Vampirina then decides to reshoot the final scene. All it takes is a touch of real monster magic to make it the best monster movie ever.
Vampirina, Poppy, Bridget, Demi, and Boris then sing about making monster movie magic as they prepare to help Edgar and shoot the final scene. The next day in school, Edgar states that he doesn't have a movie to show. Vampirina shows him and everyone in the class the movie she and her crew shot, and Edgar states that it was the best monster movie ever, which it is then ranked as. Vampirina states that as a monster movie fan, it was spooktacular making it together. Edgar states that if you want to make something awesome, call on your friends to help. Vampirina states she learned the special effects in Transylvania, and Edgar states that he has an idea for another monster movie with a family of vampires.
