Fritz Everett is Tylor Tuskmon's boss in the Disney•Pixar animated series Monsters at Work.
Personality[]
Fritz comes off as a very friendly monster and boss to the employees in MIFT, though he is overenthusiastic and sometimes goes overboard in befriending others and trying to make new employees feel welcome.
He is quite emotional and was unintentionally a little selfish, seen in "It's Laughter They're After" when his bawling that Tylor was leaving MIFT to become a Jokester caused Tylor to reconsider and stay in MIFT, and it wasn't until Fritz saw Tylor never threw out his jokester props and found the letter of recommendation Tylor originally received that he realized he'd been selfish and somewhat insensitive to Tylor's feelings and dreams, that he encouraged Tylor to become a Jokester full-time, even though it made him emotionally conflicted of being happy for and proud of Tylor yet still sad that he was leaving MIFT. Still, he made peace with it and proudly watched Tylor (and Val) become a Jokester team on the Laugh Floor.
Physical appearance[]
Fritz is a rotund, tapir-like monster with one eye, hippo-like feet, and a chameleon-like tail, as well as fin-like hair at the back of his head. His fur is blue with darker blue spots and a white stomach.
Role in the series[]
In "Welcome to Monsters, Incorporated", Fritz approaches Tylor during his arrival at MIFT and introduces himself, explaining to him that Monsters, Inc. was sending over a new employee at MIFT, Tylor asks Fritz to know what MIFT stands for which Cutter helps Fritz get ready for his presentation for Tylor. During a presentation, Fritz explains that employees at MIFT embrace the company with unbridled anticipation of what challenge lies ahead, explaining that at the end of the day, the coworkers say that they are proud to be a member of MIFT, the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team which Cutter replies that she never said this phrase. As Fritz welcomes Tylor to the Monsters, Inc. Facility Team, he gives Tylor his employee file. Later during a conversation between Tylor and Duncan, the latter introduces himself to Tylor, explaining to him that people refer to him as the deputy supervisor and the reason is if Fritz is no longer working for MIFT, Duncan will take over his job which Tylor leaves the area with Duncan telling him that he is onto him.
Back at MIFT, Tylor approaches Fritz, Banana Bread, and Val putting up a welcome party for David only for Cutter to interrupt, telling him that they already lost him as his hair is placed next to a picture of David himself which Tylor then leaves the facility to get the donuts for the ground control employees. Later, Roz's sister Roze gets Mike's attention and introduces herself to Mike, explaining that the workers at Monsters, Inc. delivered the kid's hat and ID while Fritz, Cutter, Banana Bread, Fritz, and Val approach Tylor whom they think that he was supposed to get appreciation donuts for them while Roze formally welcomes Tylor to Monsters, Incorporated.
In "Meet Mift", Tylor hears Fritz calling him after his mother Millie drops him off at Monsters, Inc., while approaches Millie and her son, followed by Val approaching the two as well and introducing herself to Tylor and his mother which Fritz feels excited of Tylor seeing Fritz and Val inside just as Tylor's mother admits it to make sure her son's second day is all right for him. Tylor arrives at MIFT trying to ask his fellow employees which Tylor hears Fritz calling his attention which he surprises him welcoming him to MIFT. Fritz then tells a story to Tylor that ever since Monsters, Inc. was founded, there was a need for the unsung heroes of Monsters, Inc. getting surprised by Cutter, Duncan, Banana Bread, and Val which Tylor finds out that it's an initiation ceremony. Fritz offers Tylor to use a wrench on a nut only for it to fall via manhole, while Fritz tells Tylor to cross through a door with Cutter serving as his guide. As Tylor attempts to escape, a blackout suddenly occurs not just in MIFT but also in Monsters, Inc. itself, interrupting the ceremony.
Later, Fritz shows Tylor everyone's table as Fritz tells him that he and his friends will double his desk with his very own nameplate as Val feels excited of Tylor having his own desk while Cutter and Duncan listen to him presenting Tylor his own desk which Tylor explains that he won't be at MIFT that long which Duncan and his pet Roto listen which the two don't trust what Tylor is saying just as Fritz, Val, and Cutter plan to give Tylor another surprise while Duncan plans to surprise Tylor with some canister refurbishments while being given a manual of how to disable the canister before it causes havoc only for the canister to ricochet across MIFT while Banana Bread and Cutter react to it as Cutter says, "Time for lunch". After Tylor leaves, Fritz and Val arrive at the desk where Tylor is supposed to be only for the two to feel worried which Banana Bread tells Fritz, Val, and Duncan about Tylor attending comedy class, much to their worry.
As Tylor attends Mike's comedy class in a plan to get to the Laugh Floor to work like Mike and Sulley, Fritz, Duncan, and Val enter the comedy class just as three seat themselves during comedy class. Back at the comedy class, Banana Bread answers Ms. Flint's topic of comedy class to which as he responds to her, Celia alerts Fritz, Val, Duncan, Tylor, and Banana Bread about Mike who is trapped in a door during a power outage; Fritz tells Duncan to get Cutter followed by Val and Tylor being next while Banana Bread stays during class with Mrs. Flint.
Arriving at the door where Mike is trapped, Fritz orders Val, Duncan, and Cutter to add power to the door which Mike escapes while Fritz tells Duncan to rescue Mike and as the door starts spinning, Fritz tells Duncan to set the door to manual override only for the door to act defectively while Fritz tells Duncan to reverse the door, which Duncan is unable to help, neither can Val. Tylor is then tasked to wrench the nut to fix the faulty door. To Tylor's determination, he was able to wrench the nut to set the arrow to reverse while Duncan manages to put the door back in place with Mike safe and sound, albeit feeling exhausted. With Mike rescued, Celia thanks Tylor and the MIFT team for rescuing Mike while Fritz and Val praise Tylor for fixing the door and finishing his first job as a MIFT employee. Back at MIFT, Fritz offers Drooler Cooler soda cans as a celebration for the MIFT team while Banana Bread enters the MIFT facility which Ms, Flint tells the team that Winchester is needed on the Laugh Floor, which Flint discusses that she was intrigued by Banana Bread's nuanced insight on comic theory as she found out that he was acting hilariously. Soon as Winchester leaves, Fritz, Val, Cutter, and Duncan continue their celebration with a piñata party while Tylor adjusts to getting used to working for MIFT.
In "The Damaged Room", Fritz receives a letter from Celia which he shows to Val, Tylor, and Duncan about the alert from Celia which Val feels excited that Tylor is being the first one to repair a damaged room while Cutter tells Tylor to wear his helmet while dealing with a damaged room which Fritz offers him a helmet to wear while dealing with the room while Duncan asks Fritz to know if he should send Tylor to deal with the problem which Fritz tells him that Tylor will do fine while Val and Tylor enter the door where Thaddeus Bile damaged the room to which as they plan to figure out a way to repair the damaged room. All of a sudden, Val, Tylor, and Duncan were able to repair the damaged room caused by Thaddeus Bile earlier.
