The Funny Little Bunnies are the characters from the 1934 titular Silly Symphony short.
Background[]
Most of the bunnies seen are of identical to each other - often having a white coloration around their bodies. During Easter, they are shown to be working as a community in a factory employed by bunnies. They are shown to be cooperative and productive when it comes to preparing for Easter such as making chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies, Easter eggs, or jellybeans. In addition to containing bunnies within said area, other animals that help the bunnies prepare for easter include hens and birds - the latter who help wrap ribbons on the Easter baskets to make them decorative for Easter.
Appearances[]
Funny Little Bunnies[]
At the beginning of the short, two bunnies leap towards the thicket of a bush where the trail of a rainbow ended at a meadow, just as they open a thicket to reveal a community of several other bunnies working together. Various other bunnies are seen preparing chocolate eggs for Easter - often carrying resources required to make these eggs using sugar and chocolate as ingredients. Throughout their duty, the bunnies not only make eggs in shape of chocolates but also decorate them with icing. Additionally, four more bunnies are seen carving chocolate-shaped bunnies based on the exact pose of one of them while a hen conducts a flock of hens to lay eggs while clucking together.
As the hens lay eggs, more bunnies are seen decorating chicken eggs while preparing for Easter, followed by more bunnies collecting droplets from the colors of the rainbow and them using them as paint to decorate more eggs such as striped paint or scotch paint. Two blind bunnies later appear decorating an easter basket, just as they decorate them with Easter eggs, chocolate eggs, jellybeans, while they and the birds and bunnies work together in wrapping the baskets. During the end of the short, the bunnies parade together across the field to deliver the treats while preparing for Easter together.
Trivia[]
- In the 1951 Disney Little Golden Book, Grandpa Bunny, there are several bunnies who take the role of several bunnies from Funny Little Bunnies, due to the fact that said book contains elements from said short. However, these bunnies seen in the short are completely different characters from the ones seen in the Silly Symphony cartoon, making them completely separate characters.
- According to a Picturegoer entry on April 20, 1935, Walt Disney described the Funny Little Bunnies as "very charming characters in one of the most brilliant of the famous Silly Symphonies".[1]
