"Galactech: Mission to the Sun" is the second segment of the thirty-seventh episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on August 8, 2016 alongside "Galaxias Quest", and is the second segment of the seventh episode in the second season.

Plot[]

In Miles' room, Miles and M.E.R.C. show Stella two different rocks. Stella identifies the first as a Crimson Phantium and the second as a Supernova Sour, also known as a piece of candy, which is what Miles has been searching for. M.E.R.C. then eats before Leo calls, asking if Miles could give him a hand with a new invention. Miles and M.E.R.C. decide to go to the workshop. Once there, Miles wonders if he is making a super-advanced pancake flipper. Leo says no, but that is already on the top of his to-do list. Leo says that he is inventing a sun probe. He is inventing a sun probe to launch it into the outer layers of the Sun. This is because of solar flares the sun sends out without warning, which are dangerous to passing ships. Miles realizes that if they know when solar flares are coming, space travel will be safer.

Leo wants Miles' help designing the sun probe from the beginning, and Miles is excited about it. Miles comes up with an idea of covering the outside of the probe with staridium, keeping everything inside safe. He also comes up with an idea of making a remote control so the Callistos can control the probe from inside the Stellosphere like a model rocket, so if it gets lost, they can pull it out. Miles and Leo then print the sun probe with the Solidizer, and they like its design before concluding that it is ready to go.

After the Stellosphere passes Mercury, Phoebe decides to activate the ship's Galactech mode for an extra layer of protection. Miles and Leo then launch the sun probe into the sun. Once the probe enters the sun's outer atmosphere, Loretta sees the different data it is collecting, including the temperature being 900,00 degrees and rising. However, the probe malfunctions, disappointing Miles. Leo, who believes that the probe's main computer overloaded, brings it back out with the remote control, disappointing Miles. Miles believes that the first time he helped out, he failed, and Leo tells him that that is called trial and error. That means that if something doesn't work, you learn from it and try again. Every inventor goes through it.

In the workshop, Leo and Miles find out that everything inside the sun probe is safe thanks to the staridium, but it is bad that the main computer did not understand the data it was collecting, as there was too much of it. Miles decides to use a smarter computer, and decides that there is no smarter computer then Stella. It is just for a quick test, as she would come right back. Phoebe, Leo, and Loretta head to the engine room with Leo informing the others that Stella will be protected from the heat and she won't be going deep into the soun. They then meet up with Miles and M.E.R.C., who were telling Stella how gathering more information about solar flares would make it safer for ships traveling near the sun. Loretta says that it's about time Stella gets to go on her own mission, which Stella likes. Leo then plugs off Stella from her mainframe. The Stellosphere will still have power, but the Callistos will have to run things by themselves until Stella comes back.

Leo then installs Stella into the sun probe. Stella says that everything appears to be functioning properly. The mission for Stella is to record everything she can about solar flares and to come back safe. Miles then sends the probe into the sun again. Leo then activates Stella's probe camera. The Callistos are getting more information about the sun, as is Stella. Stella is detecting high levels of X-ray radiation and solar winds over two million miles per hour. As Stella spots a severe solar flare, she gathers information, but she gets malfunctioned and loses contact. The Callistos can not pull the probe out with their model rocket, so Miles decides for the Callistos to get Stella themselves. Miles also decides to cover the Stellosphere with the Galactech shield. With the shield on, the Stellosphere heads into the sun. Since the search area is long, Miles decides for him, Phoebe, and M.E.R.C. to use the Star Jetter to speed up the search for Stella.

Phoebe activates the Star Jetter's Galactech mode and shield, and both ships search for Stella. Leo tells Phoebe that the probe may have lowered into the chromosphere, which is where Phoebe pilots the Star Jetter. Miles eventually sees the sun probe through his Spectral Eyescreen. Once there, they see that the probe is heading down a lava whirlpool. Miles tries to grab it with the grappling claw, but the probe is moving too fast. Shortly afterwards, a massive explosion occurs, pushing back the probe, the Star Jetter, and the Stellosphere. Stella temporarily makes contact with the Star Jetter, stating that she has lost thrusters. Miles decides that if grabbing Stella's probe from the side does not work, he decides to do so from the top, and mentions that that is trial and error. With fifteen seconds remaining until the Star Jetter has to pull up, Miles successfully grabs the probe with the claw, saving Stella.

Later, the Callistos plug Stella into her mainframe, and Stella says that she is all right. Since she collected some information about solar flares, her mission was successful. Leo says that putting Stella at risk was definitely trial and error, and the Callistos won't do the same thing again, as Stella is here to stay. Miles and Leo decide that their next invention is a super-advanced pancake flipper. The Callistos like the sound of that. Phoebe tells Stella to meet them in the kitchen, and Stella says that she will be there.
