"Galactech: The Search for the Plectrix" is the first segment of the fifty-third episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on July 8, 2017 alongside "Robo-Monkey Business", and is the first segment of the twenty-third episode in the second season.

Plot[]

Miles and Loretta are making a special birthday cake for Gong Gong, and Miles puts in a lot of Marsberries, which are Gong Gong's favorite. Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. play the birthday song while bringing the cake to Gong Gong, who really likes it. The Callistos want to try it out, and when Gong Gong blows the cake, it collapses. Miles admits that he put in too many Marsberries, which cause the cake to become soft. Gong Gong says that that is okay, and is lucky to have some birthday pudding. As Leo is getting the bowls, Phoebe activates the holo-projector so that the Callistos can watch some holo-movies. The first one shown is Phoebe going camping with her sister, Frida Liang. The second one is Gong Gong playing the Plectrix, an instrument with a very special power. Po Po says that the instrument can create a bond with any kind of alien, and no matter what language they speak, they can understand the Plectrix, as it has the power to connect. Phoebe and Leo like that movie. Miles and Loretta ask Gong Gong if he can play it for them, but Gong Gong says that the Plectrix is lost. A few years ago, Gong Gong and Po Po were on Planet Aconting for a mission, and the Plectrix got blown away by a big windstorm. They could not find it because their search tech was not as good as it is now. Miles and Loretta come up with an idea of going back to the planet they were on and find the Plectrix. Gong Gong and Po Po like the idea of the that, and Phoebe tells everyone to head to the bridge. They then take the Stellosphere near the planet and enter its atmosphere with the Star Jetter.

Leo tells Gong Gong and Po Po to inform everyone if they see any areas that look familiar. Miles asks Gong Gong about how he found the Plectrix. Gong Gong says that the instrument was a gift given to him by an alien he met long ago, and he displays the alien, which is revealed to be Oumou, shocking Miles and Loretta. Loretta tells Gong Gong and Po Po that Oumou is a Builder alien, and Builders are ancient aliens that left clues throughout the galaxy. Miles also informs them that their mission was to connect the universe, like the Callistos do. It is then revealed that the Plectrix has the power to connect the universe. Just then, Gong Gong sees a mountain where he last saw the Plectrix, and that is where Leo lands the Star Jetter.

After leaving the ship, Phoebe decides for everyone to split up into three groups and meet back at the Star Jetter in two hours. Miles goes with Loretta and M.E.R.C., who believe that the Plectrix blew off a cliff. Since it is too windy for Miles and Loretta to take their Blastboards to a lower part, they use their Galactech wings to get there. The wind is not blowing there, and all of a sudden, M.E.R.C. hears the Plectrix, but Miles and Loretta do not, so they use their audio boost to hear the music. The three then follow the sound and come up across two paths. Since the Plectrix is echoing down both of the paths, M.E.R.C. takes one path while Miles and Loretta take the other. Loretta finds out that the sound is coming from underground, and just as Miles begins to hear the Plectrix, the two fall through the ground. As Loretta suggests she and Miles turn back, a rock slide occurs, and Loretta agrees to follow Miles' way. After a short while, Miles and Loretta find the Plectrix, which makes the music itself. Loretta says that the wind coming from above the ground is making its strings vibrate. They also find a builder symbol on top of the instrument which means "connect". Just then, more rocks fall, and Miles decides to play the Plectrix to escape. After playing it, they hear music in the distance. The music is later revealed to be that of an alien. Miles decides to continue playing the Plectrix, leading to the alien covering Miles and Loretta to protect them from the falling rocks. Miles plays the instrument a bit more, and the alien leads them out of the cave.

Meanwhile, Phoebe, Po Po, Leo, and Gong Gong return to the Star Jetter with no luck of finding the Plectrix. Just then, the music that Miles and the alien play gets heard in the distance, and Miles, the alien, and Loretta appear with the instrument and return to the Star Jetter. Gong Gong thanks the two for finding the Plectrix. Miles then gives the instrument to Gong Gong, and asks if they can hear him play the instrument, which he agrees.

With everyone gathered around a camp fire, Gong Gong plays the Plectrix, causing different types of aliens to appear and enjoy its music. Gong Gong then gives the instrument to Miles and Loretta, stating that he is retired and that it is their turn to connect the universe. Miles then plays the Plectrix, connecting all of the aliens together, and Miles concludes that music really can connect the universe.
