Galahad is a supporting character of the 2004 Touchstone Pictures film King Arthur, which sought to tell a historically accurate version of the legend of Arthur and his knights.
Background[]
Personality[]
Galahad, the youngest of the knights, is a kind and cheerful young man who, unlike his fellow Romans, does not like the act of fighting in bloody wars. While he slightly shows hints of being naive compared to his fellow men, he is a very capable fighter. He was the most reluctant to continue going on quests, but continues to do so, not just out of respect for Arthur, but also as motivation for his freedom. Despite being young, he is not immature and is able to keep up with his older compatriots.
Trivia[]
- In usual legends, Galahad is portrayed as the son of Lancelot and Princess Elaine of Corbenic, when Elaine's father uses a spell to make her look like Guinevere, Lancelot's lover at the time. Galahad was introduced in later legends and was known for his more chaste and pure character. He was predestined to be the one to find the Holy Grail, replacing the usual Grail finder Percival, and is awarded the highest honor of heavenly ascension upon his death.
