Galavant is an American musical-fantasy-comedy television series created by Dan Fogelman, that premiered on ABC on January 4, 2015. The first season ran for eight episodes before being renewed for a ten episode second season which premiered on January 3, 2016. The series was cancelled shortly thereafter. The series was described as "the bastard child of Monty Python and The Princess Bride".
Synopsis[]
The series centers on the titular hero Galavant whose lady love, Madelena, is kidnapped by the ruthless King Richard. When Galavant arrives on their wedding day to stop it, Madalena suddenly changes her mind and decides to stay with Richard due to his wealth and power. This puts Galavant in a deep depression until he is pulled on a new adventure by Princess Isabella and his new page Sid who force him back into action.
