"Gekko and the Opposite Ray" is the first segment of the 51st episode of PJ Masks. It first aired on March 8, 2019.

Synopsis

Romeo's newest device turns Owlette and Catboy into villains.

Plot

Connor, Amaya and Greg have a little race; whoever reaches the slide first, wins the race. Connor and Amaya push themselves and fall, but Greg surpasses them and reaches the slide first. Greg climbs and slides down. Then, Connor and Amaya see a note stuck behind Greg. When they read the note, it's from Romeo. Romeo wants to have a truce with the PJ Masks (a truce is where one's enemy wants to be friends with you). The three of them think that this might be one of Romeo's tricks.

Later at night, they ask PJ Robot to analyze the letter and detect Romeo's location using the Picture Player. They go with Catboy's Cat-Car. When they arrive, they saw Romeo at the other side of the bridge, wanting to have a truce. The PJ Masks don't know that Romeo hid a weapon behind the bridge wall. Suddenly, Romeo takes the weapon and introduces it to the PJ Masks, naming it 'The Opposite Ray'. If it shoots a bad guy, the bad guy will become a good guy, and the opposite happens when it shoots good guy.

Romeo suddenly opens fire with the ray, and the PJ Masks run away. Unfortunately, Catboy gets hit with the ray. Owlette sees it and tries to save Catboy, but she gets hit too. Catboy becomes Night Panther and Owlette becomes Dark Owl. Night Panther's color is black and white while Dark Owl's color is purple. Then, Romeo orders them to catch Gekko in order to zap him and turn him into a villain named Luna Lizard. Night Panther uses his 'Night Panther Stripes' and Dark Owl uses her 'Dark Owl Feathers'. Gekko uses his 'Super Gekko Camouflage' and runs from the scene.

Gekko goes back to HQ and tries to figure out how to save Catboy and Owlette. While Romeo and his new villain members take a ride around the city using the Night Panther's Car. They wreck the streets by smashing through garbage and driving recklessly. Robot, on the other hand, is dismissed by Romeo as Romeo doesn't want it's service anymore. Then Gekko appears himself at the top and baits Night Panther and Dark Owl to come and 'get' him. They go as Romeo stated that to 'qualify' themselves as a villain, they need to catch Gekko. As we know, they get a little competitive and push themselves. Gekko trisd to convinced them that they are heroes, not villains.

Romeo cimes and wants to shoot Night Panther and Dark Owl, as their effects start to wear off. Gekko uses his 'Super Gekko Shield' and the ray bounces back to Romeo and Romeo becomes Captain Smarty Pantsm Night Panther and Dark Owl run away. Gekko and Captain Smarty Pants start to search for them. They find them at the toy shop, stealing some toys. After a few battles, Captain Smarty Pants shoots them and transforms them back to Catboy and Owlette. The four of them chant the PJ Masks hooray. When they come back to the museum, Robot gets mad when it realizes that Captain Smarty Pants wants to team up with the PJ Masks. Robot gets upset and snatchs the ray from him and shoots him. Captain Smarty Pants turns back into Romeo.

Romeo orders Robot to destroy the Opposite Ray as it was 'too dangerous'. Gekko gives a goodbye wave and says Romeo's good guy name (Captain Smarty Pants). Romeo warns Gekko to never say that name again.
