George Campbell Scott was an American stage and film actor, voice actor, director, and producer. He was best known for his stage work, and his Oscar-winning portrayal of General George S. Patton in the film Patton and its television sequel The Last Days of Patton, Blind George in The Whipping Boy, General Buck Turgidson in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Ebenezer Scrooge in Clive Donner's 1984 film A Christmas Carol, as well as John Rainbird in the 1984 adaptation of Stephen King's Firestarter with Drew Barrymore.
For Disney, he voiced Smoke in the 1990 television special Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue and Percival C. McLeach in the 1990 animated film The Rescuers Down Under. He was considered for the role of Barnaby in Babes in Toyland before Ray Bolger received it.
