George Robert Wendt Jr. was an American actor and comedian. He is best known for portraying Norm Peterson on the NBC comedy series Cheers, a role that earned him six Emmy nominations. His role was so famous, he would reprise it in St. Elsewhere, The Tortellis, The Earth Day Special, Wings, and Frasier. He made other notable acting appearances in The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt, Seinfeld, Columbo, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Ghost Whisperer, and Bill Nye Saves the World. He also appeared in the Michael Jackson music video for "Black and White" alongside Macaulay Culkin.

For Disney, he reprised the role of Norm Peterson for Mickey's 60th Birthday and Disneyland's 35th Anniversary Celebration. He played Chet Bronski in Man of the House, Santa Claus in Santa Buddies, the Stomach in Cranium Command, Sheldon Sparks in The Pooch and the Pauper, Uncle Blake in Kickin' It, and Frank Anderson in Fancy Nancy. Additionally, for ABC, he played Ed on George Lopez, Mike Shelby in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Dan Donaldson on Spin City, Harv in Fresh Off the Boat, and Ned Frank in The Goldbergs. For Fox, he played Stan Mason in Roc, various characters in The Edge, and once again reprised George Peterson in The Simpsons and Family Guy. For ABC Family, he played Santa Claus in Santa Baby.
