George Winthorp is a character from the 2020 Disney+ original film Black Beauty.
Background[]
George is one of the three migrants from England who visited Jo Green in Birtwick Stables, being the son of Mrs. Winthorp and Georgina being his sister. He is shown to have a kind personality to Jo, usually during the time when she partnered with Beauty. He also shows a kind treatment to other horses well as horses at his family's stable, especially Black Beauty and Ginger, unlike his sister Georgina who puts pressure on Beauty.
Role in the film[]
George meets John Manly who introduces his family to Black Beauty at Birtwick Stables. As George approaches Jo riding on Beauty, she tells him that he partnered with Beauty and made friends with her just as George introduces himself to Jo just before the remaining horses at Birtwick are on their way to be sold to Earlshall.
As the horses are brought to Earlshall, George approaches Mr. York who approaches his sister Georgina just before George tries to catch up with his mother. Later, George sees his sister putting pressure on Black Beauty in the training area where he comments that his sister doesn't get along with horses properly, telling Jo that she tends to treat horses properly rather than Georgina just before planning to talk to York about her tending to Beauty just before Jo cares for Beauty. Jo approaches George, showing him the injuries his sister put on Beauty, telling Jo that no one treats horses like that at his family's stable just before discussing with his mother and Mr. York. During a discussion with Jo, she replies to George that she would rescue horses in the future like what her uncle does at Birtwick, which fascinates him, finding Jo's thought a good answer to him.
The next day, Jo gets Ginger ready for her race while fraternizing with Jo who is supporting her to wish him luck. During the race, George and Ginger were able to win during a social gathering. However, after Georgina and Beauty lost the race, George's mother negotiated with Mr. York, planning to sell Beauty to a better place where she could be treated better, much to George's sadness. After seven years have passed, George finally meets Jo who reunites with Beauty with George becoming her interest, followed by John arriving, planning to bring Beauty back to Birtwick. The next day, George happily notices Jo who was reunited with Beauty in her stable, with Birtwick suddenly reopened and saved from bankruptcy.
