The Goblin Prisoners are a group of unnamed goblins from the 2020 Disney+ original film Artemis Fowl.
Background[]
They are a group of goblins who are arrested into Howler's Peak for unknown crimes. They are shown to be living in a prison cell where Mulch Diggums used to live before Commander Root recruited him to find the Aculos at Fowl Manor. While not much of their personality is known, they are shown to be fireproof goblins, due to their abilities to use fire as weapons against their enemies, as demonstrated by one of them.
The three credited goblins who are imprisoned consist of the Goblin Chief (played by Adrian Scarborough), the Goblin Sergeant (played by Vincenzo Nicoli), and the Goblin Lieutenant (played by Conor MacNeill) respectively.
Role in the film[]
Mulch Diggums, who is in his prison cell at Howler's Peak with a group of goblins, is seen listening to music that humans listen to while wondering which thoughts lie between the two impenetrable windows, telling one of them that tunneling is what he has to do as an occupational hazard just as the other goblins laugh at him just before telling the guards to release him from his cell. As the Goblin Chief questions if he is laughing at him, he shows Mulch the fire, which the Goblin Chief tells Mulch that his species is fireproof just as the Goblin Chief shows him his fire-breathing abilities to Mulch. Just as Mulch holds the Goblin Chief's head, it causes a great blast of fire to occur within the goblins' cell. However, the conversation between Mulch and the other goblins was interrupted when Jasmine Sapwood, a Command Centre officer of L.E.P.RECON, approached Mulch and then removed him from his prison cell. The imprisoned goblins do not appear again afterwards.
Trivia[]
- Despite their small amount of screen time, Adrian Scarborough, who played the goblin chief, was listed in the "Starring cast" section in the beginning of the film.
