"Going Green" is the first segment of the thirteenth episode of Spidey and his Amazing Friends. It premiered on December 3, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Team Spidey must stop Green Goblin from spewing his purple gas all over the park in order to make it safe for the trees again.
Plot[]
The episode begins in the park, where Spidey and Black Panther are getting ready to plant saplings across the park so they can grow into beautiful, strong trees. Spin shows up with a cherry tree sapling that he names Herman. A nearby bird makes a song and Black Panther perfectly copies it, saying they learn to mimic calls of the animals and study nature closely in Wakanda as they understand its importance. They soon hear machine noises disturbing the park and go to check it out.
The heroes find Gobby spewing purple gas all over the park, making all the animals and people run out of it in disgust. Before they can stop Gobby, they first help the remaining residents and animals clear from the park. Black Panther attempts to pounce at Gobby but misses due to being unable to see through the dense gas. He and Spidey soon see that the gas is causing their saplings to wilt, including Herman, so they go to give them some water. Spin webs Gobby's glider, and Black Panther again attempts to pounce at the villain, but the gas again messes up their vision. The trio then comes up with a plan to lure Gobby into a trap.
Black Panther uses the bird call he mimicked earlier to lure Gobby towards them while Spin is cloaked in invisibility. When Gobby realizes the bird call he heard was fake, he attempts to escape, but Spin lands on his glider, causing it fly out of control. The trio then webs up and traps Gobby as his glider crash-lands. Spidey then reprograms the glider to suck up the purple gas instead of spew it, clearing the park of the toxic gas. The episode ends with the heroes planting their saplings.
