"Gold Fools" is the second segment of the eleventh episode of The Emperor's New School.
Synopsis[]
When Kuzco's attempts to earn money for the cartcycle that he wants to buy fail miserably, he turns to an old legend about magical creatures that are supposed to hand over their gold to you if you catch them.
Plot[]
Malina is seen doing a presentation of Shuakas, Troll-Like creatures who according to legend must give their gold to anyone who spot them. However Kuzco was too busy looking as a ad for a Cartcycle but due to the fact that his funds were cut until he graduate, he attempted to found a way to get the money, but each time he asks someone for money, they laugh out loud, until Chicha (who also laughed) to Kuzco that if he wants the money, he would need to do chores around the house, starting with doing the dishes. However, after accidentally breaking a few plates, decide to find better way to get the money, he enlists Kronk's help into founding a Shuaka, so he can get the Gold and get his Cartcycle. However, Kronk suggest Malina come due to the fact that she might know where to find one and while Kuzco was against the idea (mostly due to Malina's trait of waning to win and succeed and her fame stare look) but after a few failed attempts (which had Bucky eating the food that Kronk made), Malina agreed to help under the condition that she gets half the gold and the guys have to listen to her, plus she used her stare and Kuzco agreed.
Later Kuzco and the others arrived at the entrance of , where they encountered a Shuaka named Gizo, who is actually happy to be spotted and agreed to give them his gold, but revealed that in order to get the gold, they must first be approved by an acident spirit and to be deem purree of heart and to show they are they must preform tasks to prove their worth. The first task was to go to a bring Springwater from a lake below a chasm/ Next they must build a gazebo (in which is shown in one of Kuzco's Doodles that he mistook a Gazebo to a Gazelle) and finally (by a guess from Kronk) take a few bags of purity relics and a heap of purity, where they would encounter the ancient spirit who will deem them worthy for the gold.
Upon arriving, Kuzco and the others encounter the anicent spirit, who it revealed to be none other then Gizo himself and when Malina opened the bag, it was also revealed that the "Pure Relics" are actually just trash. When Kuzco asked where the Gold, Gizo (showing his true colors) revealed that it's his gold and was NEVER gonna give it to them in the first place. He also revealed that they weren't the first ones he tricked as for centuries, Shuakas has been tricking human into going random task. When Kuzco wondered what he got out of this, Gizo revealed that this trick was also a lesson; that if you want something, you got to earn it.
The scene then changed back at the hut, where Kuzco is doing dishes as he narrate to the audenince that he is doing chores and unlike Gizo, Chica will actually pay him but his dream of owning a cartcycle might be on hold until he is able to save enough money, which might take him 3 years to complete (or longer due to accidentally breaking more dishes.)
