Goldie[1] is a character featured in the 1935 Silly Symphony short The Golden Touch.

Personality[]
Goldie is shown to give advice to King Midas, often when it comes to him asking the elf for advice. During his first encounter with Midas, he requested Goldie to give him an effect known as the "Golden Touch" - thanks to his obsession for gold; however, Goldie advises Midas that one who receives this wish can face consequences due to this effect being a curse. After Midas asked Goldie to help him after he realized that the Golden Touch is making it a disaster for him, he even asked Goldie to help him reverse the curse, which he became generous to the King, teaching him a lesson that this curse can lead him to consequences based on his obsession for gold.
Physical appearance[]
Goldie is a diminutive-sized elf with a humanoid-like appearance. He is shown to have fair skin around his body with a round human-like head. He also wears a green triangular-shaped elf hat, a light brown leather with two hands sticking out from them, green tights, as well as a pair of white socks and a pair of brown medieval shoes.

The Golden Touch[]
After King Midas boasts his power that he cares more about his money and gold thanks to his heavy obsession for this, Goldie appears next to Midas and introduces himself to the King. As the King asks Goldie of what he wants from him as in gold, the latter demonstrates the effect of the Golden Touch can do by turning touchable things into gold with one touch. Midas became excited that he was obsessed with the Golden Touch, just before Goldie continues demonstrating of how to undo this effect, which he asks Goldie that he wants to have this wish granted onto him. However, Goldie warns him that this effect can provide a curse onto him as a friendly advice from him, which the King derides his warning by giving him the effect he wants, just as the elf replies to him, "So be it". Goldie then follows the King's orders, granting him with the Golden Touch, making Midas heavily obsessed with the effects he granted onto him.
After Midas became fed up with his obsession for gold and that the effect is overwhelming him - fearing that he doesn't want the Golden Touch anymore, he finds himself in the Counting Room and asks Goldie to help him get the Golden Touch effect out of him. Goldie appears on a bag of gold coins, telling Midas that he faced the consequences for not following his advice, just as Midas tells him to take away the curse from him, sad that he doesn't want to have this effect on him anymore. Goldie then realizes that Midas is being a wise and humble king, planning to take the Golden Touch in exchange for everything he possesses just before disappearing. Although he does not appear again afterwards, Midas begs Goldie to forgive him just before he receives a burger he requested him to give him in exchange.

In Mickey's Polo Team, Goldie is one of the spectators cheering for Mickey Mouse during the beginning of the short, along with several other characters from the Silly Symphonies shorts. He is seen sitting next to King Midas in the bleachers.
