Kiff and the crew run the morning announcements at school and it gets out of control.
Plot[]
After listening to another one of Principal Secretary's monotone morning announcements at school, Kiff and Barry are told by Sweepy Steve that the daily announcements were not always so boring. Sweepy Steve takes Kiff and Barry to a large storage closet and plays them a tape of an old episode of Good Morning Table Town School, the school's previous, student-run morning announcements show. He then turns on the lights to reveal that the closet is in fact the old studio where the program was filmed. Kiff and Barry visit Principal Secretary to seek his permission to revive Good Morning Table Town School, and although warning them that the show previously caused schoolwide chaos, he reluctantly agrees on the condition that they keep the program low-key.
The new Good Morning Table Town School gets off to a slow start, somehow managing to obtain even worse audience numbers than when Principal Secretary was handling the announcements. When Candle makes an announcement about the ultimate frisbee team, Renée, who is working the camera, makes an off-the-cuff remark about ultimate not being a real sport, unaware that she is miked. The ensuing argument between Candle and Renée, however, causes a spike in the ratings. Kiff decides to capitalize on this by having Candle and Reggie debate Renée and Trevoron the program about whether ultimate deserves to be called a sport.
Good Morning Table Town School quickly turns into a full-time panel debate show, grabbing the attention of the entire school with its sensational arguments. One student, fixated on watching the show on his phone, ends up walking straight into a ditch in the middle of a hallway under construction. When Kiff questions how the accident could have happened when one of their announcements for yesterday's show was to avoid that hallway, Barry notes that the announcement was cut for time. The program does get around to reporting on the hallway, but only to debate who should be faulted for the accident. When Candle suggests putting a hat on the "ditch kid" to make him "easier to look at", the debate turns into a completely unrelated debate over what constitutes a hat.
Just as Principal Secretary predicted, the school descends into chaos thanks to Good Morning Table Town School riling up everyone. Kiff decides to literally pull the plug on the show by cutting off the studio's electricity, but the ultimate frisbee team show up with a backup generator to thank Reggie for his earlier arguments on behalf of their sport. Kiff then asks the panelists themselves to calm their viewers down, but Renée demands sodas, "but not colas", for the entire panel in exchange for their cooperation. When Kiff visits Sips Soda Fountain and asks what non-cola sodas they have, the waiter, instead of giving her a direct answer, ends up going into a long tangent about his thoughts on whether it is appropriate to use key limes in a rickey. This causes Kiff to have an epiphany and realize that facts, as boring as they might be, are better than opinions.
Kiff returns to Principal Secretary's office and begs him to resume his morning announcements. He agrees and calms the school down by playing the standard announcement chimes, "the most boring series of notes in music", over the PA system. With everything back to normal, Principal Secretary delivers another series of announcements in his usual style.
Principal Secretary's "quote of the day" is "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it", a variation of a famous quote by the philosopher George Santayana.
