Goodyear Tire
Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company is the third largest tire manufacturer in the world. It was founded in Akron, Ohio in 1898 by Frank Seiberling and was named after Charles Goodyear, who invented vulcanized rubber in 1839, though he is not connected to the company. A Goodyear blimp made a cameo appearance in Cars, after it’s revealed that there’s been a three way tie for the first time in Piston Cup history, this forcing the winners to take part in a 200 lap tiebreaker race.

Attraction sponsorship

One of the longest sponsors in Disneyland history, Goodyear sponsored the PeopleMover for its entire 28-year-long run, from July 2, 1967, to August 21, 1995. The PeopleMover's propulsion system was made up of a series of electric motors in the track every nine feet, each with a rotating Goodyear tire to propel the trains forward. Goodyear's involvement with the PeopleMover was also evident in the design of the attraction's logo, which was designed in the same typeface of the Goodyear logo.
