"Goofy's Petting Zoo" is the twenty-third episode of the first season of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It originally aired on Playhouse Disney (now known as Disney Jr.) on February 2, 2007.
Plot[]
While Goofy, who is the Zookeeper for the day, takes a nap, 19 animals (eight cows, ten pigs, and one baby elephant) escape from the petting zoo. Mickey and Goofy set out to round them up. The cows are on an island, the pigs are on a Ferris wheel, and the baby elephant is stuck up in a tree.
Synopsis[]
The episode begins in the Clubhouse with Mickey greeting the viewers as Goofy runs in, panicking. He explains to Mickey that he was looking after animals in a petting zoo, but fell asleep and the animals escaped. He has to find them all and return them to the zoo before the day ends, or else the zoo will close and Goofy will be fired as zookeeper. Mickey agrees to help Goofy before going to the Mouse-ke-doer to pick up his Mousketools: a blanket, a bullhorn, a piggy bank, and the Mystery Mousketool.
Goofy leads to the petting zoo, and there they learn they have to round up 19 animals: 8 cows, 10 pigs, and an elephant. They decide to look for the cows first: the duo climb a hill and after failing to calling the cows, Mickey calls Toodles for the bullhorn, allowing Goofy to properly call the cows at a much louder pace. After hearing their moos, the duo take a tandem bike built for two to a nearby lake, where they meet Daisy and find the cows stranded on an island. The friends take a nearby sailboat and Mickey calls Toodles for the blanket to give the sail for the boat. The trio makes two trips to rescue the cows as the boat is only able to hold 4 cows at a time.
Daisy leads the cows back to the petting zoo as Mickey and Goofy look for the pigs. They arrive at a Ferris wheel, where they see Pete denying Minnie access to it as the ride is full, but she doesn't see anyone on it. They find the pigs riding the Ferris wheel (proving Minnie wrong), and Pete charges them 100 coins, 10 for each pig, in order for them to get off the Ferris wheel. Mickey calls Toodles for the piggy bank, allowing them to pay their fare in full as it has 100 coins. After getting pigs down from the Ferris wheel, Minnie leads them back to the petting zoo and Mickey and Goofy look for the elephant. They find Donald, who heard the elephant, which they find in a tree. Mickey calls Toodles one last time for the Mystery Mousketool: peanuts. The trio uses the peanuts to lure the elephant out of the tree and back to the zoo, where the cows and pigs are waiting. The gang returns to the Clubhouse and does the Hot Dog Dance. The episode ends with the gang exiting the Clubhouse as it disappears and Mickey waving goodbye to the viewers.

Trivia[]
- This is the second episode in Season 1 Toodles' submarine theme is used (2nd Time), the first is being Mickey Goes Fishing.
- This is Bubbles' seventh appearance in the series, following "Donald's Big Balloon Race", "Minnie's Birthday", "Daisy's Dance", "Pluto's Puppy-Sitting Adventure", and "Daisy in the Sky".
- Three clips from this episode appear in the online game, "Mickey's Animal Video Parade."
- This is one of the few Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes to be shown on more than one Disney DVD, being shown on both the Little Einsteins: Animal Expedition 2010 DVD and the Mickey and Donald Have a Farm 2012 DVD.
- In real life, you pay to get on rides, not to get off rides.
- Even if a baby elephant manages to climb up a tree in real life, it would break the branches since it is very heavy.
- There is a storybook based on this episode, but with a few changes:
- The bullhorn being selected happens near the zoo instead of on a hill.
- The bike scene, the two boat trips to bring the cows back to shore, and the sound of the rooster and horse are omitted in the book.
- This is I believe the only time that a character jumps into view when Mickey does so in the Mousekedoer song. This is also the first time that a character besides Mickey waves at Toodles when he pops from the Mousekedoer.
Goofs[]
- When Mickey and Goofy were on a hill, there was no bicycle until they see it.
- When Mickey is telling Goofy to fold the blanket in different way, Mickey doesn't have a vest on himself.
- When Mickey and Goofy bring the second part of cows, Daisy doesn't have a vest on herself (it is possible that she took it off).
- When Mickey and Goofy spots the ferris wheel, there were no pigs seen in there.
- When Mickey and Goofy are near the ferris wheel, a hill with a snow can be seen. Although, it is not important in the episode.
- When Mickey, Donald, and Goofy call for Toodles, they are being frozen (along with the elephant).
