"Goon Baby Goon" is the second segment of the fiftieth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on April 15, 2017 alongside "Gamechangers", and is the second segment of the twentieth episode in the second season.

Plot[]

Before the Callistos leave the Stellosphere, Phoebe tells Stella to lock up the ship, and Stella agrees. The Callistos don't have a lot of time, so they'll have to split into teams while in the Tethoscape. Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. will pick up the cargo that the Callistos will be delivering to the colony on Phantasmos while Phoebe and Leo will pick up some groceries. The Callistos will meet back at the Stellosphere in seven minutes.

After they leave, Gadfly thinks that seven minutes is enough, but he quickly hides when he sees a security guard. He then tells the goons he just summoned that they have to work fast while the Callistos are off the Stellosphere, as they plan to steal their Solidizer, which is a machine that can print any high-tech gizmo Gadfly wants. However, Gadfly notices that the door is locked, and is mad about it. As a result, he plans to wait for the Callistos to return and unlock it. The Callistos will see Gadfly, but Gadfly's goons have a transparent mode. The goons are tasked to stay in transparent mode so no one can see them.

While Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. finish up with the shopping, Loretta realizes that they are still forgetting a small Terra Skiff. Miles says that they can print one themselves with the Solidizer, which Gadfly hears. The Callistos deactivate the Stellosphere's security and head inside while not noticing the goons in transparent mode entering, as well. Phoebe and Leo head to the kitchen to unload the groceries while Miles and Loretta print a new Terra Skiff. While M.E.R.C. is checking to make sure he doesn't see any intruders, Loretta sets the Solidizer to small, and it prints the Terra Skiff. After Miles and Loretta make sure it works, they place all of the cargo in a cargo bubble before heading to the kitchen to help Leo and Phoebe. The goons then try to steal the Solidizer, but due to messing with it, it bounces out of control.

In the kitchen, Phoebe and Leo re-assure Miles and Loretta that they don't need any help. M.E.R.C. is looking at his Booster Bites, and Miles questions if he wants them to last until the next shopping trip. Just then, Stella informs the Callistos that the Solidizer is bouncing around in the hangar. This confuses the Callistos, especially Miles, who knows he turned it off.

In the hangar, while the goons are trying to catch the Solidizer, their transparent modes turn off. The Solidizer then scans both goons, and once the goons see the Callistos, they quickly head out. Leo manages to shut it down, and realizes that it really got messed up. Miles assumes that Gadfly must have been trying to steal it, and Leo says that since Gadfly loves his tech, it makes sense he'd want a Solidizer that can print lots of it. Miles sees Gadfly's ship going away, but Phoebe says that the Callistos' focus is to deliver the supplies to the colony on Phantasmos, and she will call the SpaceGuard.

In the Scourge, Gadfly offends his goons for not stealing the Solidizer. The goons say that that was because the Callistos saw them, so they ran. Back in the Stellosphere, Leo restarts the Solidizer, but afterwards, the machine prints a baby goon hoop. This is because the Solidizer printed the goons while they were trying to steal it. A baby goon then appears, and when Leo tries to deactivate it, the goon causes mischief, going very fast and taking off one of the Star Jetter's engines. Leo and Phoebe task Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. to catch the goon while they head to Phantasmos.

During the chase, the goon messes up Loretta's room. Loretta assumes that the goon did the same to Miles', but Miles says that this is how he left it. In the kitchen, the goon eats some of M.E.R.C.'s Booster Bites before M.E.R.C. stores the pack. Loretta assumes that this is the food that the goon likes, and the chase continues.

Once the Stellosphere has made it to Phantasmos, Leo is about to drop off the cargo when he contacts Miles, who says that he, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. are still trying to catch the goon, and he is heading for the engine room. Once there, the goon activates the Stellosphere's additional control panel, and also activates the emergency Stellosphere separation. This surprises Loretta and Miles, who didn't know the ship could do that.

Leo and Phoebe realize it, and Leo tries to activate the thrusters to avoid Phantasmos, but thrusters are for positioning in space, and they're not strong enough to escape a moon's gravity. The Star Jetter is not an option because the baby goon left that ship a wreck. The baby goon causes more mischief in the engine room before escaping. Leo informs Miles and Loretta of the situation, and tells them that his and Phoebe's half of the ship is caught up in the gravity of Phantasmos, and they're in free fall. Miles and Loretta are told by Phoebe that they need to use the backup piloting controls to reconnect the back half of the ship with the front half. While Miles and Loretta pilot their half of the ship, M.E.R.C. is tasked to find the baby goon.

M.E.R.C. finds the baby goon in the utility tunnel. There, the goon turns off gravity and the ship's air pressure. M.E.R.C. comes up with an idea of giving the goon the Booster Bites M.E.R.C. stored. The plan works, as the goon falls asleep and M.E.R.C. deactivates him. He then restores the gravity and air pressure. Miles and Loretta then focus on catching up to the front half of the ship. With a minute remaining until the front half makes impact, Miles and Loretta successfully reconnect the front half with the back half, making the Stellosphere one piece again. Phoebe and Leo congratulate Miles and Loretta, and Phoebe decides for the Callistos to drop off the cargo and then see Gadfly.

Shortly afterwards, the Callistos meet Gadfly and his goons, and give them something that was printed when the goons were trying to steal the Solidizer: a baby goon hoop. After the Callistos wish Gadfly and the parent goons happy parenting and leave, the goon quickly causes more mischief, and Gadfly calls for the Callistos just as soon as they leave.

Trivia[]

  • This episode reveals two additional functions of the Stellosphere:
    • Emergency Stellosphere separation: This can only be accessible via the engine room, when you press a button that activates an additional control panel. You also have to press specific buttons on that panel to activate the separation.
    • Air pressure: This is only accessible via a utility tunnel, and there is a switch that turns the air pressure on and off.
  • This episode also reveals that Gadfly's goons have a transparent mode, which makes them hidden from sight.
  • This is the second appearance of the Phantasmos moon after "Ghost Moon".
