"Grandpa Bones" is the first segment of the eighty-fifth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on November 26, 2014 alongside "The Arctic Pearl", and is the first segment of the twenty-fourth episode in the third season.
Plot[]
Jake and his crew come across and rescue Captain Buzzard Bones, who was adrift in a raft, and they introduce themselves. Captain Buzzard states that his mateys call him Bones, and Skully knows that name looks familiar. Captain Buzzard would like to meet Bones, and Jake and his crew are delighted to do so. On the Jolly Roger, Captain Hook is wondering if Bones is finishing cleaning the ship when Captain Buzzard arrives, and he reunites with Bones. Everyone is happy, except for Captain Hook, who plans to let Captain Buzzard know the Jolly Roger is the finest ship on the Never Sea. Captain Buzzard states that he has heard of Captain Hook, who orders Bones to do more work on the ship and Captain Buzzard to leave it.
However, Captain Buzzard Bones states that he has sailed with the best, including Captain Buzzard. Bones mentions he's famous and has every book written about him. Buzzard Bones was Buzzard's right hand man for the latter's entire life. Captain Hook overhears this, and Buzzard Bones decides for him and Bones to dig up the treasure of Captain Buzzard, with Jake's crew and Captain Hook helping.
Buzzard Bones wonders if the treasure was buried in the Horrid Haunted Tomb or the Easy-Peasy Crater before remembering that it was buried on top of a tall towering rock called The Pinnacle of Doom. He wonders what path they took to get there when Captain Hook goes through the easy path. Buzzard Bones mentions that he went down the path that goes through the swamp, as the path Captain Hook is going on contains big flowers called Tiger Lilies, which catch him. Jake rescues Captain Hook before resuming their search for the treasure.
Once there, Izzy knows why it's called the Pinnacle of Doom, as stormy weather is at its peak. Buzzard Bones wonders how he got up there. As Captain Hook pressures him to remember, he stumbles upon a rope and goes to the peak when Buzzard Bones mentions that the treasure was buried on the ground, as it was took risky to dig it at the top due to the lightning, which then electrocutes Captain Hook. With help from Izzy's Pixie Dust, Jake and Izzy help him down.
Captain Hook still won't give up on looking for the treasure, and Buzzard Bones tells him where it is located. Once the treasure is dug out, Buzzard Bones finds Captain Buzzard's hat. However, Captain Hook traps Jake's crew (except for Skully), planning to take the rest of the treasure. However, Buzzard Bones frees them and traps Captain Hook. After being praised by the others, Buzzard Bones states that he didn't just help Captain Buzzard bury the treasure, as he is Captain Buzzard Bones. He then sings a song about the many treasures he plundered throughout his life. Buzzard Bones states that although he seems like a broken-down old shipwreck, he knew Captain Hook's greed would get him in trouble, as a lesson for being so mean to Bones. Buzzard Bones then leaves to find more adventures around the Never Sea while thanking Jake's crew for the help. He also tells Bones to stay with Captain Hook, who needs a real sailor to teach him how to be a real captain.
Back on Pirate Island, Jake and his crew put the gold doubloons they collected into their Team Treasure Chest. Skully got to wondering if anybody in his family is famous, and it turns out he has a cousin who's a buzzard. Back on the Jolly Roger, Mr. Smee mentions that he and Sharky read all of the books about Captain Buzzard. Captain Hook then orders Bones to get back to work, and bumps into a bookcase, causing the book of Captain Buzzard to land on Bones, who thanks his grandpa for looking after him.
