"Grandparent Napped" is the second segment of the eleventh episode of the Disney Channel series Chibiverse.
Synopsis[]
Tater teams up with Perry the Platypus!
Summary[]
Scientist Gary and #2 worry as several Grandparents are being Grandparent-napped but are relived that Tater's Abuelos are still safe. At Pop and Buela's house, Pop falls asleep while watching the weather, before Tater sneaks in to watch The Masked Chibi, before he wakes up as he demands to turn it back while ranting about how singers during his time didn't need to dance around in a mask and criticizes Tater for not appreciating the weather before falling back to sleep, upsetting Tater as she misses the unmasking. As Tater complains about the lack of excitement, a claw breaks into the house and flings Pop out the window, Grandparent-napping him, before it grabs Buela, leaving Tater terrified, before the TV plays a commercial about The Chibi Hall of Heroes, so Tater goes to ask them for help finding her Abuelos.
At the Chibi Hall of Heroes, Tater is greeted by Wander, who she quickly explains her situation to and begs them for help, so Wander summons Agent P to help her, which confuses her as she doesn't see how a platypus can help her, before he swallows a modulator that gives him the ability to speak to her. Together, they formulate a plan to track down the Grandparent-napper by using Tater as bait by disguising her as a grandma, hoping that it will lead to her to being Grandparent-napped as well, giving Perry the time to stop them. Perry gives her a set of spy gadgets to help, including a cane that doubles as both smoke bombs and nunchucks, a hearing aid communicator and a butterscotch with a tracker in it. Tater dons her disguise, goes to the community center during CHIBINGO night and starts acting like a grandma, the ruse works, and she is Grandparent-napped which Perry sees and drives off after her using the tracker.
Tater, is pulled into a castle on Mount Chibi where she is reunited with her Abuelos, along with Alice Green, Scrooge McDuck, Hop Pop Plantar, and Suga Mama, who are all tied to chairs with helmets that are hooked up to a machine, which turns out to be The Core, having taken control of Marcy Wu again, turning her back into Darcy, revealed to be the Grandparent-napper. Darcy explains that she captured the elder chibis in the Chibiverse to feed their wisdom to the Core and add their minds to the collective, intending to do the same to Tater, making it powerful enough to conquer the Chibiverse. Tater attempts to call Perry, but she loses her communicator in a scuffle and Alice stress-eats her tracker, delaying him, so Tater reveals herself and attempts to fight Darcy, but she accidentally hits herself with her cane and sets off the smoke bombs as Darcy charges at her before Perry finally shows up and stops her.
A fight breaks out, which becomes increasingly difficult as the elder chibis are able to predict Perry's moves and forcibly pass the information to Darcy, allowing her to block him, until Darcy accidentally swings at Alice, frustrating her enough to rant about fighting in her time while criticizing Darcy's use of a laser scythe, which affects Darcy as the hard truth shocks her into confusion. Tater gets the idea to make the Grandparents cranky enough to rant about their old life and criticize everything about what people like today, and the overload of negative energy sends Darcy into a spiral, giving Perry the opportunity to knock her out as Tater removes the core from Marcy's head, reverting her back to normal. The Core then has a meltdown, so Perry helps everyone escape as it explodes.
Back on Perry's speedboat, Pop thanks Tater for rescuing them and Tater asks if it was as exciting than the weather, before Pop immediately falls back to sleep, much to her disappointment.
