"Gregoria Takes Flight" is the second segment of the thirty-fourth episode of Vampirina. It premiered on June 21, 2019 alongside "Beach Night" and is the second segment of the ninth episode of the second season.
Plot[]
Gregoria looks through her telescope and sees foggy weather until she sees Demi disguised as a full moon. Demi mentions how great his night flight was when the Hauntleys arrive from their flight. Vampirina states they saw so many stars. Gregoria tells her about not being able to see anything through the thick fog, and that tomorrow is when the Vampirus constellation is visible in the sky. It only appears once every five hundred years. Gregoria states that gargoyles like her enjoy stargazing. However, she states that she's made of stone, so she's used to staying on the ground, and decides to view the constellation from there.
The Hauntleys check tomorrow's weather forecast, and it will be covered with a thick layer of fog all night. This demotivates Gregoria, and Vampirina's idea about using a broom doesn't work, as it's too dangerous to use one during the foggy weather. Gregoria then heads up to the telescope, and Vampirina tells her that the Hauntleys will find a way for her to see the constellation tomorrow night. Vampirina and Demi decide to find a way to make Gregoria fly. Vampirina and Demi sing about what it would be like for Gregoria to fly. At first, Gregoria doesn't believe it, but she eventually does.
Gregoria then decides to give it a shot. Vampirina states that her first try flying as a bumpy experience, so she and Demi prepare Gregoria with the equipment needed to get her up in the air. Gregoria gives it a try, but it doesn't work, as paper-mâché wings aren't very strong. The next idea is Gregoria bouncing on a trampoline, and it doesn't work, as well. So, Vampirina and Demi be Gregoria's training wings. It works, but Gregoria quickly falls back down.
After Gregoria mentions it, Demi decides to use a floating spell on Gregoria. Vampirina warns him that he shouldn't put a spell on someone else without asking. Either way, the spell works, but Gregoria can't get down and Demi can't remember the counter-spell. Gregoria is heading towards and open window, and Vampirina closes it just in time. Demi then recites the counter-spell. Gregoria states that she wasn't meant to see the constellation.
The Hauntleys are ready to take flight and see the constellation. Vampirina tells them about Gregoria wanting to come with them, and Oxana notices this. After Demi mentions it, Vampirina states that the Hauntleys should've been trying to change the sky instead. While the Hauntleys do so, Chef Remy Bones serves Gregoria a snack. Gregoria watches the weather report, and when she notices the strange weather pattern, she heads outside to check things out. When she looks through the telescope, she sees the Hauntleys using their super speed to blow the fog away, and catches Demi, who got dizzy as a result. The Hauntleys realizes that they've been trying to get Gregoria to change, when she is already perfect just the way she is, so they decided to change the fog. The Hauntleys have a group hug just as the Vampirus constellation appears. Gregoria thanks Vampirina for the help, and later, Vampirina is glad the night flight got changed to a night walk. Gregoria is having a great time, her head feels like it's floating in the clouds.
