"Groot's Pursuit" is the third episode of the Disney+ animated short I Am Groot. It was released on August 10, 2022, along with the rest of the season. It was written and directed by Kirsten Lepore.
Baby Groot investigates a spooky noise that’s been haunting the Quadrant, the massive Ravager ship that he calls home. In doing so, he comes face-to-face with Iwua, an intelligent, shapeshifting alien who assumes his form. The best way to resolve who actually is Groot: a dance-off.

Groot wakes up in the middle of the night after hearing a strange noise. As he continues to investigate, a strange amorphous like substance seems to be following him. Groot eventually finds the creature, named Iwua, and it takes on Groot's appearance. Groot tries to exert dominance on the creature, but when he refuses to back down, Groot resorts to dancing. Groot and Iwua dance with the latter revealing its true form and starts critiquing Groot's dancing. Eventually, Groot tricks Iwua into entering an airlock and shoots him out into space.
