Groot is one of the main characters in the Disney XD Marvel Comics animated series Guardians of the Galaxy.
Groot was created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Larry Lieber.
Background[]
Groot's homeworld was firebombed by Ronan, destroying the entire surface of the planet and all life but one Flora colossi. Groot later became a friend of Rocket after the latter gave him water. The two then broke out of the laboratory in which they were being kept. Both of them later joined the Guardians of the Galaxy.
