"Groot's Snow Day" is the tenth and final episode of the Disney+ streaming television shorts series I Am Groot and was released on September 6, 2023. It was written and directed by Kirsten Lepore.
Synopsis[]
In this adventure narrated by The Watcher, Groot finds himself in the heart of an ancient Drez-Lar temple with a mythic prophecy he must fulfill to save the universe.
Plot[]
The Watcher narrates Groot's latest adventure at the Temple of Drez-Lar where the prophecy states that an ancient seed will bring about a new age of the cosmos. Groot proceeds to throw caution to the wind as he sets off every trap, but is left unharmed. The Watcher tries to urge Groot into completing his task, but Groot keeps getting distracted by various things and even defaces a mural in the temple before taking a nap. Lava proceeds to surround the seed as Groot gets up, only to simply get his ball back and the seed is destroyed as the temple falls apart around him. The Watcher is fearful that Groot has perished, but Groot ends up rising out of the debris unharmed, making the Watcher realize that the idea of a seed rising from the ashes was a metaphor. Groot heads back to the ship and leaves where he waves at the Watcher, who apparently is unaware of the fact that Groot can see him.
