The Gummi Bear Medallion (or simply known as the Gummi Medallion) is a magical Medallion that regularly appears in the show Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
Originally crafted by the Great Gummies, it was once found by a teenaged Sir Gawain when a Gummi lost it in the Northern Mountains, near Ursalia, and later passed on to his grandson Cavin (depicted as a flashback in the episode "Over the River and Through the Trolls").
In the series' pilot episode "A New Beginning", it finally ends up in the possession of Zummi Gummi, and with it he is able to unlock the Great Book of Gummi, which sets him on his path to becoming a Gummi magician.
Zummi's Medallion is seen to unlock the Great Book again, in the episode "For Whom the Spell Holds" after Zorlock has stolen the Great Book, and in the episode "He Who Laughs Last" after Zummi had temporarily lost the Medallion. It is also used once on another lock, to open the gates to an Ancient Gummi Water Station in "Zummi Makes it Hot".
One other Gummi Bear Medallion is known to have remained on the continent since the Great Gummies left for New Gumbria (not counting the medallions found on the Council of Gummi magicians of Gummadoon, which only appear once every century); the identical medallion is in the hands of villainous sorceress Lady Bane, who regularly tries to tap into its powers and to get her hands on more Gummi magic. In one scene in the episode "Patchwork Gummi", Bane's Medallion is briefly, and inexpicably, shown with an alternate design; likely an overlooked goof on the part of the episode's animation team (see the gallery below). Her Medallion is shown to actually unlock the Great Book as well, in the episode "Tummi Trouble".
In an attempt to practice magic as well, Tummi Gummi furnishes himself a Gummi Bear Medallion made entirely from wood, in the episode "Presto Gummo", though the Medallion does not contain any magical powers whatsoever.
