Just then a commercial for a rival car salesman name Tan Roadster, while Pete is waiting for his weenie doodle cheese melts, which Peg brought was felt that Pete doesn't appreciate her. After giving a large burp, Pete continued to watch the game, where he heard a knock on the door and it's Goofy and Max, who Pete yelled at them and slammed the door, causing a bunch of snow landing on them.
Thinking that this is enough, Peg, Goofy and the kids decide to hold a sort of intervention, where if Pete doesn't keep his promise of taking them to the Mount. Ladler, they will pelt him with snowballs, which he reluctantly agrees. However, upon learning that he is unable to get out of his chair, with Peg, at first refusing to believe that until she tried to remove the chair herself and now believed in Pete. Wondering how he got himself stuck, Peg and the kids believed that it was all the food he ate while watching the game in his chair. To get him out, Goofy put one chain link on his car while the other is connected to the chair, and when Goofy drives off, the chair will be pulled, but unfortunately Peter was pulled along with the chair.
At Mount Ladler Pete (who finally got out of the chair) and the other arrived, just as Peg told Pete he needs to lose some weight, despite him thinking he's in good shape. As the other went to the mountains, Pete stayed behind to eat something, when he noticed Tan Roadster came too, and seems to be smitten with Peg, who punched him after he pushed Pete away. Upon learning that Peg is Pete's wife, Tad told Peg to see him at the Mount Ladler winter games to see a real man in action, and taking it as a challenge, Pete decide to join in the games to, but would need to get into shape upon realizing what he got himself into.
Back home, after being told that he will go one a diet and that means to leave the kitchen, where he found a box of chocolate, which only had a letter address to Peg from Tad, causing Pete to get into shape, first by using an exercise bike, which went well at first, only for Pistol to remove a part and causing him to crash outside. After returning home, Pete learns that Tad had sent numerous roses to Peg, which upset Pete as he need to bring it up a notch and enlisted Goofy for this task. While at a gym, Pete tried out a few gym equipments, including a video treadmill where he sees Tad driving and insulting him, which Goofy stopped him using burgers, only for Pete to fall and crash into the wall.
On the day of the winter games, Pete and Tad competed in numerous sports, which the first event was dog sledding and Pete was the first to win as he crossed the finish line while pulling the sled. The next event was ice dancing, which Peg helped Pete stand on the ice, only for Tad to get in the way, which Pete threw Goofy in the direction and cause Tad to kiss Goofy instead as Peg held on to a branch. Next event would be ice hockey, where Tad failed to get a single puck into the goal thanks to Pete's stomach.
In the last event, Pete and Tad competed in ski race down mount ladler, where Pete crash between two trees, which caused Tad to laugh only for him to ski backwards as he nearly falls off the mountain, but by luck he falls into the direction where Pete was stuck and instead of falling to his death, he instead crashed into Pete, sending him back to the mountains, whole the impact caused Pete to fall off the tree. After Peg and the others race to sees if Pete's ok, Tad approached Pete and admits he was wrong and said he learned hiS lesson, even admitting that there's no such thing as too much of a good thing and told Peg that she got herself a real good man, which Pete said that behind a good man is a good woman.
Back home, Pete is shown to be thawing out from the winter games, where Peg thinks Pete learned his lesson of getting into shape and help save their marriage, only for Pete to forego on exercising and go back to his old ways.
