Harriet is a character in Disney's 2023 film Haunted Mansion, based on the ride of the same name. She is a psychic who lives in the French Quarter neighborhood, who uses supernatural powers and encounters Gabbie and her son Travis in the Haunted Mansion.

Background

Harriet is a psychic who lives in the French Quarter neighborhood in New Orleans who discovers that the supernatural powers she uses could be stronger than she imagined inside the mansion. Hence her duty, she is shown to use the powers of séance, often trying to communicate with spirits who haunt the home of the house where Gabbie and her son who move into the mansion such as Madame Leota.

Physical Appearance

Harriet is a forty-year old woman with light tan skin, emerald like eyes, and black eyes. Her wardrobe consists of a wrapped around hat with some jewelry and ragged clothing in shades of green, gold, brown, and red. She has tattoos all over her hands and has a beauty mark below her left eye.

Trivia

• It is possible that she shares the name with a deceased opera singer of the same name, as there is a tombstone in the Liberty Square version of Haunted Mansion attributed to "first lady of the opera, our haunting Harriet", which Muppets Haunted Mansion in turn would later confirm this connection.
  • It is also possible that Harriet from the 2023 film adaptation of Haunted Mansion is named after the late Disney Imagineer Harriet Burns.
• Harriet is always seen drinking out of a glass with gold trimming.
