"Help Us, Jet Retrograde!" is the second segment of the forty-second episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on October 29, 2016 alongside "Space Junkers", and is the second segment of the twelfth episode in the second season.

Plot[]

On Planet Sandrosk, Loretta (as Professor Loretto) is running away from the Sandelion. Just as the Sandelion appears, Miles (as Jet Retrograde) and M.E.R.C. (as the Mighty Mercatroid) save Loretto from the Sandelion. This is just another film that the Callistos just finish watching, and they like it. Phoebe and Leo tell Miles that his Jet Retrograde movies are getting better. Miles says that including this film, he has made seven Jet Retrograde movies, and their friends like them, as well. Since it is okay, Miles uploaded each one onto the space web for everyone to watch. Loretta expects a Professor Loretto fan club to pop up any time. The Callistos then head to their rooms to go to sleep. Before Miles and M.E.R.C. do so, Miles uploads the latest Jet Retrograde film called The Adventures of Jet Retrograde and the Sandelion onto the space web for everyone to watch.

The next morning, Stella begins the Callistos' next day, stating that she has detected an emergency message, one that may be of particular interest to Miles. Once the Callistos are on the bridge, Stella plays the message. An alien tells them that his species is the People of the Peaks, and they are in trouble. He asks Jet Retrograde for help. Miles and Loretta think it's a joke. Either way, the Callistos are confused about the fact that the People of the Peaks think Jet Retrograde is real. Phoebe decides to tell them that Jet will not be making an appearance. Stella finds out that the message was sent from Planet Hemera, and that's where the Callistos go to.

While the Callistos enter the planet in the Star Jetter, Loretta says that Hemera is always in an evening setting, as its star doesn't rise any higher in the sky than it is now. This is why the People of the Peaks built their houses on the mountains: to stay in the light. Once the Callistos land, the Callistos see an air glider, which, despite having no boosters, gets around by riding the wind. The People of the Peaks hurriedly look outside to see what is going on. The person who sent the message has to apologize for the timid interference, as the species don't get many visitors. He introduces himself as Fortis. The Callistos introduce themselves to him, and Phoebe tells him that Jet Retrograde is not a real person. Leo says that the Jet Retrograde movies are homemade movies, a form of storytelling. Miles plays Jet, Loretta plays Professor Loretto, and M.E.R.C. plays the Mighty Mercatroid.

M.E.R.C. wonders what's going on, and Fortis tells the bad news: a family in an air glider disappeared down in a canyon yesterday. The People of the Peaks hope they ejected safely and are waiting for someone to find them. A search and rescue mission was attempted, but it was too dark to see, even with every light they had. Most of the People of the Peaks have never been down there, as they tend to avoid the darkness. The Callistos decide to go down there, and before doing so, they apologize for the fact that Jet Retrograde is not a real person. Fortis also tells them that the missing family is the Noslos. After the Callistos leave in the Star Jetter, Fortis tells one People of the Peak that Jet Retrograde is not here, but a new family is to search for the Noslos.

During the search, the Callistos make it to the lowest part of the canyon, and Loretta sees long slide marks in the ground. Leo and Miles see that the marks slid through the canyon and into the water. Phoebe assumes that if it is the air glider, the Noslos are waiting inside for someone to find them, someone like the Callistos. Leo then activates the Star Jetter's Aqua Mode before going in the water. Miles sees the air glider, which is missing the cockpit. Leo assumes that the Noslos must have ejected before the air glider hit the water, meaning they parachuted somewhere in the canyon. This is where the Callistos resume their search.

Once the Callistos take the Star Jetter to another part of the canyon and exit the ship, they agree to go off in different directions. Miles and M.E.R.C. find the Noslos, who are delighted to see them. The Noslos tell Miles that their son, Ebon, who is currently playing with Jet Retrograde and Mighty Mercatraoid toys, ran across the stone bridge before they could catch him, and the bridge broke. Miles and M.E.R.C. try to help him, but Ebon refuses due to being shy. Miles tells M.E.R.C. to stop, as if they continue, Ebon may fall. Miles realizes that the toys Ebon was playing with look like him and M.E.R.C. Miles tells the Noslos that, although Jet Retrograde is not a real person, Miles is Jet, and M.E.R.C. is the Mighty Mercatroid.

Once Miles and M.E.R.C. are in their disguises, Miles tells Ebon that his day has been saved by Jet Retrograde and the Mighty Mercatroid. Ebon likes it, and decides to ride along with Miles. The Noslos are delighted to see that, and they agree to let Jet and Mercatroid fly Ebon up to the village.

Miles and M.E.R.C. do so, with the Callistos following in the Star Jetter, and the People of the Peaks are excited to see the Noslos return. Miles tells them that he didn't do anything that the People of the Peaks couldn't do, but Fortis tells him that they are not superheroes like Jet. Miles tells him that about this superhero thing, he's just a normal person, like Fortis. This confuses the People of the Peaks, but Ebon congratulates Miles for the rescue, and the rest of the People of the Peaks do the same thing.

The Callistos then leave the planet in the Star Jetter, with the People of the Peaks saying goodbye. The Callistos congratulate Miles and M.E.R.C. for what they did, and Loretta tells Miles that taking off his mask without knowing how the People of the Peaks would react was smart and took a lot of bravery. Miles says that the People of the Peaks think that they would rather be Jet Retrograde than think they need him.
