Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill is a British actor and model. He is known for his portrayal of Charles Brandon in The Tudors (2007–2010), Superman in the DC Extended Universe (2013–2023), Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher (2019–2023), and Sherlock Holmes in the Netflix film Enola Holmes (2020) and its 2022 sequel.
He played supporting roles in several television series, including BBC's The Inspector Lynley Mysteries (2002) and ITV's Midsomer Murders (2003), and later appeared in other films, such as Tristan & Isolde (2006), Stardust (2007), and Immortals (2011).
His Disney roles include portraying Albert Mondego in the 2002 Touchstone Pictures film The Count of Monte Cristo and as an alternate version of Wolverine, dubbed "The Cavillrine", in the 2024 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Deadpool & Wolverine.

- Cavill's casting as Wolverine references the actor's status as a popular fancast for the character, similar to John Krasinski being cast as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.[1]
- Cavill joked about having shaved his mustache for the role of Cavillrine, referencing a situation during the reshoots of Justice League in which he was contractually obligated not to shave his mustache while playing Superman, who does not have a mustache and was therefore digitally removed.[2]
- Him pumping or "reloading" his arms as Cavillrine is a reference to his role as August Walker in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
- Henry Cavill got sick in his stomach, due to smoking cigarettes on set, for eight hours straight, during the filming of his scene in Deadpool & Wolverine.
