The relationships of Hera Syndulla in Star Wars Rebels.
Family[]
Cham Syndulla[]

Hera with her father, Cham Syndulla.
Cham is Hera's father. They had a close relationship as her father's actions during the Clone Wars inspired her to become a freedom fighter. After Palpatine declared himself Emperor, their relationship became strained due to Cham being rarely at home. At first, Cham wanted an none fighting life for Hera and goes along with the changes that the Empire brought to their home world at the end of the Clone Wars, in hopes that he'll be able to give Hera a better life. He tells Hera this after she was caught for being too close to the new foundry, but that didn't stop Hera from helping her uncle to get the weapons for those who disagree with the new Empire; only to get caught and tried for treason. Once Cham becomes aware of this from one of his brother's allies, he and his wife go into battle once again to save their daughter, who they quickly send safely away after Cham and the Twi'Leks who aided the Syndulla family were arrested for the attempted murder of Orn Free Taa. After Hera's mother was killed, Hera saw that the freedom of her people required the overthrow of the Emperor and left Ryloth to join the Rebel Network.
Several years later, when the rebellion needed a new cruiser-carrier ship for their pilots, Hera contacted her father and enlisted his help in stealing an Imperial Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier that had been spotted above their homeworld Ryloth. Though Cham wanted to destroy the ship to show his Twi'lek resistance's strength to Ryloth, he seemingly agreed with Hera's plan to steal the ship for the Rebel Alliance. However, their strained relationship prevented them from working together during the mission. When Cham and his rebels double-crossed Hera and her friends to destroy the Imperial cruiser-carrier, Hera was angered by her father's actions. When she confronted her father, Hera sympathized with him on what the Empire is doing to their people, but reiterated that the battle could not be won on Ryloth alone. Hera tells Cham how he inspired her and her motives for joining the rebellion, thus convincing Cham and his rebels abandon their plan and help the Rebel Alliance steal the cruiser-carrier. After they managed to succeed in stealing the cruiser-carrier, Hera reconciled with her father where he praised for sharing her mother's idealism and his leadership qualities.
Hera later reunited with her father when she and the Ghost crew rescued him and Numa on Ryloth. Hera was devastated to hear from Cham that the Empire has taken over their home, the Tann Province and he could not retrieve her mother's Kalikori. The two worked together in retrieving their Kalikori, but she and Ezra ended up being captured by Thrawn and Slavin. Cham was willing to turn himself in to Slavin in order to save his daughter, showing he valued his daughter more than anything. When Hera met Cham, she apologized but he told her that it is alright because he has been captured before, but Hera quickly revealed her plan to blow up Syndulla house in order to stage an escape before ordering Chopper to trigger the explosives. After escaping, Hera met her father and Kanan. Cham surmised that he should not have underestimated his daughter where both father and daughter hope that the Empire will continue to underestimate them. When Kanan apologized for not being able to recover the Kalikori, Hera replied that she doesn't need an heirloom to honor her mother's memory because she already has Kanan, her father, and the Spectres before the three of them shared a toast.
Eleni Syndulla[]
Hera had a close relationship with her mother, Eleni. After the formation of the Galactic Empire, Eleni did her best to keep Hera safe when Imperial forces began occupying their home planet of Ryloth. When Hera's father, Cham formed a resistance against the Empire, Eleni was killed during her and her husband's fight against the Empire, leaving Hera devastated. Eleni's death also caused Hera's relationship with her father to become strained, causing Cham to keep fighting Imperial forces on Ryloth while Hera left to join the Rebel Alliance.
When Cham reunited with Hera during a mission for the rebellion to steal a Quasar-class cruiser stationed over Ryloth, Cham let his bitterness at the loss of Eleni at the hands of the Empire and his obsession with protecting Ryloth fall into wanting to instead destroy the ship. In the end, Hera and Cham reconciled and they carried through with the original intent of the mission.
Jacen Syndulla[]
Hera became pregnant with her son, Jacen during the Battle of Lothal. After his birth, Hera shared a close relationship with Jacen, raising her son even as she joined the Rebel Alliance. She saw a lot of Kanan in her son, especially when Jacen expressed his wish of becoming a Jedi like his father.
When leaving to help Ahsoka and Sabine on the planet Seatos, Hera allowed Jane to accompany her by letting him be her co-pilot on the Ghost. After being caught in the Eye of Sion's jump into hyperspace, Hera's number one concern was the safety and well-being of her son.
Romance[]
Kanan Jarrus[]

Hera and Kanan share their first kiss.
Hera met at the planet Gorse and its moon Cynda and revealed himself to be a Jedi, instructed her to keep his secret approximately six years prior to the events of Star Wars Rebels. Hera along with Zeb, was initially the only member of the crew of the Ghost who knew Kanan was a Jedi until the events of "Spark of Rebellion". She was devastated when Kanan was captured by the Grand Inquistor and worked with the rest of the Ghost crew to try rescue him. When Kanan's rescue was successful, Hera happily reunited with Kanan as she was overjoyed to see him alive and well. When Kanan planned to go to Malachor with Ezra and Ahsoka to seek knowledge on to defeat Darth Vader and the Inquistors, Hera was worried she might not see Kanan or Ezra despite Kanan reassuring they will come back. Eventually, Kanan and Ezra managed to return to the rebel base, but without Ahsoka, and Hera embraced Kanan, happy to see that he was alive.
Over time, Hera developed romantic feelings towards the exiled Jedi where she would eventually admit her love for him and he would admit his love for her. After his death, Hera was saddened, but she honored the sacrifice of the man she loved by adding him to the Kalikori, symbolically making him a permanent part of the Syndulla family clan. Hera eventually gave birth to their son, Jacen Syndulla, who was born with his mother's flying skills and quite possibly his father's Force abilities.
Friends and Allies[]
Omega[]

A young Hera with Omega.
At a young age, Hera met Omega when she accompanied her father's friend, Gobi in receiving weapons from Clone Force 99 so the people of Ryloth can start rebelling against the newly-formed Galactic Empire. Fascinated with the clone squad's ship, Hera received a tour of the interior from Omega. The two young girls bond quickly enough, with Hera telling Omega that flying is more than just knowing how to do it but above all a feeling of freedom.
After her parents are taken hostage by the Empire, Hera contacted Omega to ask for her help. When Omega and Clone Force 99 arrived at Ryloth, a desperate Hera hired the clones to help her free her parents. Unfortunately, the group is spotted by a probe droid during a simple scout, leading to increased security in the capital. When Hunter reconsidered helping rescuing Hera's parents, Hera was comforted by Omega who reminded her that since Ryloth is her homeworld, she should be able to help find a good strategy which Hera managed to successfully do in order to convince Clone Force 99 to continue helping her.
Hera and Omega infiltrated the refinery after Chopper fails to hack the network terminal and grabs a ship to destroy the terminal, allowing Tech and Wrecker to attack the refinery as a diversion while Echo and Hunter freed the captive Twi'leks in the capital. The group then managed to escape before other enemy reinforcements joined the scene. Once again reunited with her parents and now having to go into hiding from the Empire, Hera sincerely thanked Omega for her invaluable help and shared a hug with her before leaving, hoping to see her again one day.
Garazeb Orrelios[]
Hera is among the few people who can successfully reprimand Zeb. He respects her greatly and his behavior is much like that of a child whenever Hera scolds him - due to her motherly nature. Despite this, Hera is kind and patient with Zeb - giving due consideration to what happened to his planet and his people.
Ezra Bridger[]

Hera and Ezra.
Hera serves as a mother-figure to Ezra and they care for each other. Hera also helped Ezra become a better person and that helping others rather than yourself is a rather selfless act and was the first to warmly welcome Ezra into the crew. However, he disagrees with Hera at times, especially when she suspended the search for Kanan. When Ezra and Hera discovered that Gall Trayvis was an Imperial agent, Hera consoled Ezra and made him feel better by staying they will still have hope despite Trayvis's betrayal.
After Kanan was captured, Ezra went behind her back and took control while defying Heras's orders. At first angry with him, Hera said she was proud of the boy Ezra became, who responded he learned from many things from Hera as much as he did Kanan. It is revealed in the episode "Secret Cargo" that Hera taught Ezra how to pilot a ship. When Hera learned that Ezra and Sabine were briefly captured by two Inquistors, she was shocked, but relieved that Ezra and Sabine managed to escape safely.
Hera also spent her time searching for Ezra's parents, knowing how much Ezra longed to find and reunite with them. However, after Ezra discovered his parents had died during a prison breakout, Hera felt sad for Ezra and did her best to comfort him. When Ezra was about to go to Malachor with Kanan and Ahsoka to seek knowledge on how to defeat Darth Vader and the Inquistors, Hera was worried she won't be able to see Ezra or Kanan again. However, Ezra and Kanan managed to return to the rebel base, but without Ahsoka, making Hera grateful to see Ezra alive.
A year later, when Ezra's recklessness nearly got the Ghost crew killed, Hera was disappointed in Ezra and demoted him from his position as lieutenant. However, while captured by Maul, Hera worried for Ezra's safety as Maul wanted a Sith holocron from Ezra and Kanan, but after defeating Maul, Hera was relieved to see Ezra was alright. While continuing to do missions to build the rebellion, Hera's trust in Ezra was slowly restored that she possibly granted him leadership again. Hera also decided to liberate Lothal from Imperial rule as she was proud of how much Ezra has grown and wanted to help free his homeworld. Unfortunately, when Thrawn's forces attacked their base on Atollon, Hera and Ezra lost their entire armada to prepare for the attack on Lothal, but they managed to escape with the rebellion.
When becoming part of the Rebel Alliance, Hera and Ezra still remained on good terms where they both still wished to liberate Lothal from Imperial rule. When Hera was captured by Arihnda Pryce after failing to destroy Lothal's TIE Defender factory, she was rescued by Ezra, Kanan, and Sabine, which unfortunately led to Kanan's death. Hera and Ezra mourned for Kanan in their own ways until they were tasked with a mission by the loth-wolves to stop Emperor Palpatine from gaining knowledge and access to controlling time and space from the Lothal Jedi Temple. After successfully stopping Palpatine, both Hera and Ezra acknowledged that Kanan was truly gone and made peace with his death where they decided to continue on with their goal in liberating Lothal.
When Thrawn threatened to kill innocent civilians if Ezra did not surrender to him, Hera tried to convince him not to do so while thinking of another way to defeat Thrawn. However, when Ezra did surrender to Thrawn, Hera was upset and worried for him, but was urged by Sabine to trust him so that they can defeat Thrawn. When Ezra summoned some Purrgil to send himself and Thrawn away, Hera tried to urge Ezra to escape, but could only watch in devastation when Ezra disappeared. Though she wanted to look for Ezra immediately, she watched a hologram message of Ezra explaining his sacrifice and how left Hera a meiloorun fruit as a goodbye present, causing Hera to decide to honor Ezra and his sacrifice by continuing to fight the Empire.
Years later, after the Empire's downfall, Hera came to the conclusion Ezra was dead until Ahsoka provided her a map of Thrawn's location, giving Hera the hope and possibility that Ezra was still alive. Her hopes were rewarded when Ezra arrived at a New Republic freighter, making Hera extremely emotional to see her second son-like figure again after being separated from him for years.
Sabine Wren[]
Hera serves as a mother-figure to Sabine as she was disowned by her family for speaking against the Empire. Hera and Sabine care for each other and Hera usually trusts Sabine to carry out important missions. When Hera started receiving missions from an individual known as "Fulcrum," Sabine was not sure if Fulcrum can be trusted and questioned Hera on keeping secrets, but Hera assured Sabine to trust her. When Fulcrum revealed herself to be Ahsoka Tano, Sabine eventually started to completely trust Hera.
When Hera received orders from Commander Sato to retrieve medical supplies from an old Republic medical station, she assigned Sabine to the mission, showing her trust and confidence in her. Later, after Sabine returned with Ezra and Zeb, Hera was shocked to learn that Sabine and Ezra were briefly captured by two Inquistors, but was relieved that Ezra and Sabine managed to escape safely. When Hera was injured after failing to negotiate with Fenn Rau and the Protectors of Mandalore, Sabine sought to avenge Hera, but was stopped by Kanan who told her that Hera would not want Fenn Rau to be killed in order to provide transportation to the rebels.
When Sabine started training to learn how to wield the Darksaber, Hera gave Kanan advice on how to train Sabine and recognize how much pain she was in as she knew about Sabine being disowned by her parents when she spoke out against the Empire. After Grand Admiral Thrawn and his forces attacked the rebel base on Atollon, Hera was reunited with Sabine after she and her family were recruited by Ezra to help save Phoenix Squadron.
Sometime later, after joining the Rebel Alliance, Hera reunited with Sabine after she liberated her home planet Mandalore from Imperial rule. Hera was concerned about Sabine and Ezra going on a mission with Saw Gerrera until she was reassured by Gerrara where she managed to pick up the kids after they finished the mission. When Hera was captured by Arihnda Pryce after the failed attempt to destroy the TIE Defender factory, she was rescued by Sabine, which led to Kanan's death. After mourning for Kanan, Hera and Sabine joined the remaining Ghost crew to save the knowledge of the Lothal Jedi Temple from falling into the hands of Emperor Palpatine. Though Hera was reluctant to go along with the mission upon discovering Palatine's involvement, she allowed Sabine and Ezra to proceed as she knew it was what Kanan would have wanted too. Hera then rescued Sabine from the Emperor's advisor and they proceeded to escape before the temple sank into the ground.
Later, Hera, Sabine, and their allies worked together in liberating Lothal from Imperial rule. When Ezra decided to go surrender to Thrawn in order to protect the people of Lothal, Hera was urged by Sabine to trust Ezra so they can figure out to destroy the Imperial Dome fortress. After successfully liberating Lothal, Hera and Sabine went on their separate ways, but remained in touch, with Sabine knowing of Hera's son, Jacen and her involvement in the Battle of Endor.
Years later, Hera met up with Sabine again after Ahsoka recovered a star map that held the location of Ezra and Thrawn. When Sabine feels upset over Ahsoka's mistrust of her, Hera comforts her and assures Ahsoka does have faith in her as her apprentice. When Sabine and Ahsoka went to confront Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati on the planet Seatos, Hera disobeyed New Republic orders and led a squad of pilots to help her friends, only to witness the enemies leave Seatos, taking Sabine hostage. Hera was unaware that Sabine was taken hostage until Ahsoka used the Force to find out what happened her. As a result, Hera provided a distraction and went to meet with a New Republic fleet while Ahsoka and Huyang flew into hyperspace with a pod of Purrgil, with Ahsoka promising to find Sabine and Ezra.
C1-10P[]
Hera became Chopper's mistress after she rescued him from a crashed Y-Wing and repaired him. Cham later complained that she cares more about Chopper, who he calls a "second-rate junkpile", than him. When Hera left Ryloth to join the Rebel Network, Chopper went with her.
Ahsoka Tano[]
Hera first met Ahsoka when the Jedi arrived on Ryloth during the Clone Wars and greatly respected the Togruta for her bravery. They reunited after Hera left Ryloth and joined the Rebellion after Ahsoka was recruited into the Rebellion by Senator Bail Organa. Ahsoka supplied intel to the Ghost cell under the contact Fulcrum and Hera was willingly to follow Ahsoka's orders. Hera was greatly saddened when she learned of Ahsoka's supposed death on Malachor.
However, years after the Empire's defeat during the Battle of Endor, Hera learned of Ahsoka's survival where the two reacquainted during the formation of the New Republic. When Ahsoka found a star map that held the key to finding Ezra, Hera decided to join Ahsoka in finding and reuniting with Ezra. When Ahsoka confided in her about her frustrations with Sabine, Hera gave her some advice on how to handle her former Padawan and assured Ahsoka that she had her reasons for leaving the Jedi Order. The two investigated Morgan Elsbeth's factories on Corellia due to tracing one of her assassin droids there. Though they managed to apprehend some greedy Imperial loyalists, Hera managed to place a tracking device on a hyperdrive core that Elsbeth constructed so Hera and Ahsoka could track her down and find Ezra.
Hera tried to convince the New Republic Senate to help her and Ahsoka investigate the possibility of Thrawn's return, but members of the Senate disagreed over the possibility and did not provide Hera a fleet to help with the investigation. However, Hera disobeyed the Senate's orders and led a squadron of fighters to assist Ahsoka and Sabine Wren. After Morgan Elsbeth and her forces escaped, Hera looked for Ahsoka and Sabine, only to be able to find Ahsoka after her son, Jacen Syndulla sensed her presence within the World Between Worlds.
After Ahsoka recovered, Hera spoke with Ahsoka who revealed Sabine had been taken by Morgan Elsbeth and her forces who left to find Gran Admiral Thrawn. When a New Republic fleet arrived to confront Hera for her disobedience in investigating without approval, Hera and her squad of pilots provided a distraction for Ahsoka so she could use a pod of Purrgil to get to Ezra and Sabine's location. Before leaving, Ahsoka promised to find Ezra and Sabine, with Hera telling her to may the Force be with her.
Enemies[]
Gall Trayvis[]

Hera and Gall Trayvis.
Hera seemed to admire Gall Trayvis for being the only member of the Imperial Senate for speaking out against the Empire. When Hera and the Ghost crew learned that Trayvis was coming to Lothal and the Empire planned to capture, Hera went with the Ghost crew to rescue and protect the Senator. When they rescued Trayvis and tried escaping with him, Hera noticed he was slowing down the crew as they made their down in Lothal's sewer system. When she, Ezra, and Trayvis came up to a large fan, Hera handed the senator an unarmed blaster to prove her suspicions of him being an Imperial spy.
When Trayvis confirmed her suspicions by aiming the blaster at Hera and Ezra, Hera bravely stood her ground and defended Ezra's parents when he mocked them. When he tried to shoot Hera, he discovered the blaster wasn't charged and realized he was tricked before Hera knocked him unconscious before the Rebels made their escape. Hera later told Ezra she didn't want to believe Trayvis's true allegiance, but despite knowing Trayvis was giving out false hope, Hera became determined to give the galaxy true hope in order to rebel against the Empire.
Maul[]

Hera and Maul.
Hera first met Maul when the former Sith Lord took her, Zeb, Sabine, and Chopper hostage in order to bribe Kanan and Ezra into giving him the Sith holocron they retrieved on Malachor. While being held prisoner by Maul, Hera was threatened by him into showing him around the Ghost which she complied to do. When Maul questioned her about Kanan, Hera tried to lie to the former Sith that she didn't know anything about Kanan, but Maul saw through her lies. Maul then probed through Hera's mind and realized she recruited Ezra into joining the Ghost crew before he taunted her when he found the Jedi holocron.
When Hera and the rest of the Ghost crew tried to defeat Maul and escape, Maul overpowered them and threatened Hera that he will kill her and her friends if they tried to escape again. When Kanan and Ezra arrived to give Maul the Sith holocron, Maul ordered his droids to kill Hera and the rest of the Ghost crew, only to be saved by Kanan.
Thrawn[]

Hera and Thrawn.
Hera first met Grand Admiral Thrawn when she returned to her home planet of Ryloth to retrieve her family's Kalikori. Thrawn was impressed Hera would go through such lengths to retrieve her family's heirloom and Hera took an instant dislike towards Thrawn. Though Thrawn developed a respect for Hera for trying to get her family heirloom back, Hera developed a hatred for him when he decided to take her Kalikori as a prize.
Their animosity grown stronger during the war where Thrawn took every opportunity to mock Hera in her efforts to fight him and the Empire, going so far as to mock her about her brother who died when they were children. Thrawn was also capable of recognizing Hera's piloting skills such as when she lead an attack to destroy a TIE Defender factory on Lothal. Though she managed to outsmart his pilots, Hera was ultimately captured, but she was rescued where she received her Kalikori back from Kanan Jarrus, which sadly led to his death. After coming to terms with Kanan's death, Hera decided to liberate Lothal from Thrawn and the Empire, which caused Ezra to sacrifice himself to defeat Thrawn and his forces by sending themselves out of the galaxy.
Years later, after the Empire's downfall, Hera believed Thrawn was dead until Ahsoka Tano informed her otherwise by showing her a star map of where Thrawn was exiled, causing Hera to join Ahsoka on her quest to not find Ezra, but to defeat Thrawn once and for all.
