"Hive Got An Idea" is the second segment of the twenty-first episode of the Disney Channel animated series Kiff.
Synopsis[]
Kiff shows a new kid around school but can't stop his family from interfering.
Plot[]
Kiff has volunteered to be a student ambassador and is in charge of showing a new student, Little Louis, around Table Town Middle School. She and Barry visit Louis's address, which turns out to be the Wall of Goat. The Wall explain that a goat is born every 100 years and when it comes of age, it may go to school for a day, then decide whether it would like to return to the Wall or leave them and disconnect from their hive mind forever. While walking with Kiff and Barry through downtown Table Town, Louis is captivated by an airplane in the sky. Kiff is excited by the idea of helping Louis become a self-thinking individual. Meanwhile, the Wall decide to quickly check on Louis. Using their telepathic connection with Louis, they take control of his body to confirm his whereabouts.
Louis is introduced to his new class, but the only thing he can say about himself is "We are goat, the Wall of Goat". When asked what his favorite movie is, he bounces the question back to his classmates and repeats their answers. Suddenly, the Wall take control of Louis and declare that his favorite movie is The Four Horns of Jungle Island, a 1936 film featuring an all-goat cast. Kiff realizes that the Wall is controlling Louis, despite promising not to. The Wall control Louis in the playground when he tries to fly a paper airplane, making him jump rope instead. At lunch, Louis is about to order a grilled cheese sandwich, but the Wall make him order eggplant parmesan. Realizing what is happening, Kiff tells the lunch lady to give Louis a sandwich anyway. She refuses, leading to a scuffle between her and Kiff during which a piece of tinfoil lands on Louis's head, blocking his connection with the Wall and allowing him to order the sandwich himself.
Kiff has Louis wear a tinfoil hat so that he can continue his day without the Wall interfering. To prevent the Wall from noticing the blocked connection, she returns to the Wall disguised as Louis and says that he will make a decision at the end of the day, then joins them in practicing their song and watching The Four Horns of Jungle Island. At school, Louis recites the pledge of allegiance, eats grilled cheese sandwiches with his classmates, and attends band practice, all of which remind him of being part of the Wall. In gym class, he notices that his classmates have turned tinfoil hats into a fashion trend thanks to him. Louis then takes off his hat and tells the Wall that he has decided to neither return there nor stay in school, but instead pursue a career in airplane design. He explains that everything is a hive in its own way, and that life is about finding the hive that suits oneself best. Barry questions if a child can become an airplane designer, and Louis reveals that he is in fact 105, which is the age when a Wall goat comes of age. Louis is last seen flying a jet over Table Town as Kiff and Barry look on.
