In 2022, following Walt Disney World Resort's reopening, Magic Kingdom announced that an updated version of the show will return for the classic Halloween event, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, as part of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary celebration. However, on August 16, a modified version of the stage show entitled Burning Rain of Death ran due to the rainy weather and to the fact that water is a weakness to witches. The full performance resumed on August 17.
This show is a follow-up to the closing scene of Hocus Pocus where Winifred's spell book hints the sisters are not quite gone for good. The sisters even mention said events.
