Production
On August 6, 2020, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a remake of Home Alone is in development and would premiere on the company's streaming service Disney+. By October, Dan Mazer had entered negotiations to direct ot, with a script cowritten by Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell. Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson will serve as producers.
Filming began on February 2020 in Canada. It was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By November, Bob Chapek announced that all film projects that were halted have resumed filming or in some cases finished principal photography.
