"Home Scream Home" is the twenty-second episode of the Disney Jr. animated series Vampirina. It premiered on August 3, 2018.
Synopsis[]
Vampirina returns to Transylvania and brings along her Ghoul Girls bandmates, Poppy and Bridget, to compete in a talent competition.
Plot[]
Vampirina and her Ghoul Girls bandmates, Poppy and Bridget, are practicing their music when Boris and Oxana ask them what today is. Vampirina says that today is the Transylvanian Scream Factor competition, which is a contest in which whoever wins is Transylvanian's best talent. Vampirina always wanted to compete, and assumes that the Ghoul Girls will miss it this year. Oxana tells Vampirina about a surprise; she and Boris are going to the Scream Factor, and they've signed the Ghoul Girls up to compete, marking the band's Transylvanian debut. Poppy and Vampirina are excited about it, but Bridget is a little bit scared. Boris reveals that he and Oxana already got the band's parents' permission. Poppy reassures Bridget that the competition will be amazing. Demi also tries to cheer Gregoria up during this time.
To get to Transylvania, the Ghoul Girls will go by broom. Gregoria gets on his side broom, as he doesn't fly. Poppy and Bridget try the same thing, and they enjoy it. As they make their way to Transylvania, Vampirina sings about how great her home is. Once everyone makes it there, Vampirina shows everyone her ice cream shop. It has since moved and replaced with Mrs. Mummy's Veggie Wraps. Vampirina also shows where she took monster dance class, although Oxana says otherwise. Everyone then goes to Spookleton Castle, which is where the Scream Factor will take place. They land safely on the magic carpet spot instead of the broom parking, which has moved, as well.
Everyone then heads inside the castle and enter the stage where the Scream Factor takes place. Dragos the Dancer introduces everyone to the talent show and introduces the first performers, the Wolf Heads, who make their performance. As the Ghoul Girls head backstage, they meet the Scream Girls. Vampirina tells them everything and the Scream Girls tell the Ghoul Girls that they'll rock. The Boo Boys then appear, and introduce themselves as the greatest boy band ever to frost their tips or moonwalk in unison. The Scream Girls tell the Boo Boys that they will win unless the Ghoul Girls do. Poltergeist Pat tells Vampirina if she can do their dances, but she doesn't know how to do so. After Poltergeist Pat tells Vampirina that she doesn't belong in Transylvania anymore, the Boo Boys perform one of their dances while Poltergeist Pat tells everyone that they will win.
The Ghoul Girls and the Scream Girls wish each other luck. Vampirina heads to the top of the castle, and Poppy tells her to not listen to Poltergeist Pat about the Ghoul Girls not belonging in Transylvania. Vampirina doesn't know if she belongs here. When the Hauntleys moved to Pennsylvania, she thought she'd always be Transylvanian, no wonder how far away they were, but she isn't sure anymore. Vampirina decides to watch the competition, and Poppy and Bridget are supportive.
Once backstage, a stage manager tells the Ghoul Girls that the Scream Girls are gone. She also found a note from FrankenStacy's guitar which states that the Scream Girls withdraw from the Scream Factor competition. Vampirina also sees that the band left their stuff behind. The Ghoul Girls decide to look for the band, although Vampirina hopes it hasn't changed too much since she left. Poppy and Bridget are excited. As Demi is told about the Scream Girls missing, Dragos introduces the youngest contestant, Lucy. As the Ghoul Girls search the castle, Demi and Gregoria join in. Once at the top of the castle, Mrs. Sludgio is called and states that she heard some music coming from Gargoyle Hall earlier, and assumes that it's the Scream Girls warming up.
Once the Ghoul Girls arrive there, they don't see the Scream Girls, although Bridget awakens a gargoyle named Franklin, and Gregoria is delighted to see him. Vampirina states that the Scream Girls like to spruce up and reflect in the Mirror Room. Once there, Bridget sees that it's empty, but Vampirina does a dance to reflect herself in the mirror while she is still a bat. Afterwards, the Vampirina in the mirror transforms and shows that the Scream Girls are in the kitchen. The Ghoul Girls are surprised to see the crowded kitchen. Vampirina decides for the skeletons to get in a conga line. Demi tells the Ghoul Girls that the Scream Girls are not in the kitchen, either.
Vampirina decides to look in the dungeon, although Bridget is scared about it. Just then, Demi activates a knight and gets scared himself. Vampirina states that it's a good thing Nanpire showed her the last time they came there together. To open the door to the dungeon, Vampirina plays an old Transylvanian tune. The Ghoul Girls then head down the steps and hear the Scream Girls calling for help. Once they make it to the dungeon, they get locked in by Poltergeist Pat, who has the key. He states that he wasn't going to lose the competition, and since the Ghoul Girls and the Scream Girls are too good to beat, he is locking them up until the show is over. Vampirina mentions that it is cheating. Poltergeist Pat tells them that they'll need their hands and feet to dance and cheer for his spookcatular performance.
The Scream Girls thank the Ghoul Girls for coming to find them. Vampirina decides for the Scream Girls to teach the Boo Boys a lesson on the stage, as Transylvanians and Pennsylvanians never give up. Demi decides to fly though the wall. Vampirina heads out by turning into a bat. She and Demi then go to get the key. They find it behind the mummies. Demi inflates himself while Vampirina is about to get the key. However, Poltergeist Pat uses magic to give the key wings and make it fly away. Vampirina tells her parents everything, and Boris states that he is fast enough to get the key, and mentions his friends, the Acro-Bats. They eventually get the key, and Vampirina then frees her friends.
The Scream Girls are about to perform their act when Vampirina states that the Ghoul Girls are not competing, as the Scream Factor is about Transylvanian talent, and after everything that has changed, she doesn't know how Transylvanian she is anymore. Poppy and the Scream Girls are supportive, and that being Transylvanian is part of who Vampirina is. The Scream Girls thank the Ghoul Girls for all their help, and they then perform their act. They then stop and FrankenStacy states that tonight is a celebration of all things Transylvania, and they give their spot to the Ghoul Girls, who have the most Transylvanian spirit of anyone the Scream Girls know. The Ghoul Girls then perform a song about never being far from home, which is a part of who they are. They are then declared the champions of the Scream Factor. Vampirina states that the ghoul can be taken out of Transylvania, but the Transylvania can never be taken out of the ghoul.

- The episode title is a reference to the phrase "home sweet home".
- This half-hour episode is different from the other half-hour episodes for different reasons: It's not a season finale, the title card appears onscreen, Edna and Edgar were absent (Edna, however, is indirectly mentioned by Bridget and Boris), none of Vampirina's human friends, besides Poppy and Bridget, found out that she and her family were vampires, and the main characters weren't in Pennsylvania at the end.
