"Home is Where the Haunt Is" is the second segment of the eighteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
Molly does her best to pretend everything is normal while Scratch protects the house.
Plot[]
Continuing from the last episode, the McGees have resorted to living in their moving truck in the woods. Sharon and Pete try to maintain a straight face by suggesting that they treat their new living situation as if they are going camping, but Molly and Darryl overhear and are clearly not having any of it and must make do with their situation while also missing Scratch. Meanwhile, realtor Candace Green tries to sell the McGees' house, but Scratch goes into full ghost mode scaring away any potential buyers. Candace, who can see and apparently has had a history with ghosts, makes it her duty to try and sell the house by the end of the month as they only have thirty days.
Molly continues to go to school where Libby suggests that they hang out at her house as her mom is testing out slam poetry. Molly turns her down and makes up an excuse that they need to attend Geode Club after school, lead by Andrea of all people, though Libby can tell that something is wrong with her. Molly claims that they need to go to more after school clubs, despite her obviously being stressed. Scratch's scaring comes to a halt when an expecting, and creepy, couple take an interest in a haunted house. Andrea and her father are in the woods looking to expand when the former catches Molly living in the woods and uncomfortably leaves; concerning her.
Scratch finds Molly and tells her that their house is almost being sold and the McGees prepare for the worst. This results in Scratch pleading with Candace to hold off the sale. While she cannot stop, she allows the McGees one final goodbye to the house. However, the entire town of Brighton reveals that they have pitched in to buy the house for the McGees, thanks to Andrea who used her influence to help raise the money for it (while also considering Molly her best friend). The McGees return to their home where Molly wonders if the curse between her and Scratch is broken as they technically left the house, but Scratch feigns that they are still linked, making her happy.
