Synopsis[]
When the Scare B&B is selected to receive a prestigious award by Edna and the Historical Society, the Hauntleys hurriedly prepare the house.
Plot[]
Vampirina and Demi look for Demi's bowtie for the Scare B&B ceremony, which is with all of the Hauntleys' human friends. They head downstairs to find Oxana and Boris preparing the house with monster magic. Gregoria is reminded to be shiny because Boris mentions that today, the Scare B&B is receiving a human award for the oldest and most beautifully unique home in the neighborhood, according to Edna and the Historical Society. Boris mentions that their humans must love the frightful style, and Vampirina knows the Hauntleys have come a long way since they moved there.
With everyone loving the Scare B&B, Edna arrives with the Historical Society, thrilled to honor the house. Edna presents the Hauntleys with the Golden Keystone Award, and it will only be displayed at the Scare B&B. Everyone will be watching when the Hauntleys receive it. At the ceremony, Poppy, Bridget, and Edgar arrive. Vampirina is delighted to see them, and they wouldn't miss the ceremony at all. Edgar mentions a party after the ceremony, and Demi eats some snacks before poofing. The Hauntleys then show up for the ceremony with Vampirina telling Gregoria, Chef Remy Bones, and Demi to join, as the ceremony is about the whole family. Gregoria, Bones, Demi, and Wolfie stay hidden while Vampirina, Oxana, and Boris are honored for making the Scare B&B an important part of the community and given the Golden Keystone Award.
Wolfie then licks ice cream, turning him into a werewolf. The Hauntleys try to calm him when they are revealed to the audience. Vampirina then gets the batties, followed by Oxana and Boris. This, combined with the mischief Demi, Gregoria, and Bones are causing, scares everyone away. Poppy, Bridget, and Edgar tell Edna that they're friendly, but she faints. Vampirina is worried about everyone being scared. And later, the Hauntleys watch a news report about vampires being spotted in Pennsylvania. Vampirina doesn't understand it, and Boris tells her that the humans are surprised by how different they are, and sometimes, different can seem scary. Oxana mentions that their friends won't be scared for long. Gregoria then sees reporters on the Hauntleys' doorstep as they're waiting for an exclusive interview with the family. Demi reveals himself and scares the humans away. Boris tells everyone to show the humans they're just like them by acting as human as possible.
The Hauntleys then dress up as humans, so that they can fit in. However, Vampirina is against it. Of course, it doesn't work, and Vampirina decides for the Hauntleys to find a way to show the town who they really are and everything that's spooktacular about being a monster. But then, Oxana and Boris mention that now that everyone knows the Hauntleys are monsters, nothing will change their minds about the family. Ever since the Hauntleys moved to Pennsylvania, the last thing that they wanted to do was scare anyone. So, Oxana and Boris decide for the Hauntleys to move back to Transylvania. Horrified, Vampirina wonders about her friends, school, and the Scare B&B. And when she asks her parents if moving back to Transylvania is the only solution, they tell her if the humans are frightened of them, there's nothing else they can do.
Later, while the Hauntleys pack up the Scare B&B, Poppy and Bridget are worried about Vampirina, but they know that they'll always be friends, no matter how far away she is. Vampirina will find a way to come back and show everyone that being a monster isn't so bad. Boris mentions that the Hauntleys are leaving the Scare B&B in the Historical Society's hands. They also have to leave all the keys that go with the house so that it can be accessed. Vampirina takes a moment to leave everything that goes with the Scare B&B before joining the Hauntleys in their return to Transylvania.
After the Hauntleys leave, Edna and the Historical Society check the Scare B&B. Edna checks the doorbell and confirms that it shrieks. They are then confronted by Poppy and Bridget, who heard the shrieking. They tell the Historical Society about what happened to the Hauntleys, and Mr. Gore sees the family leaving the house to the Scare B&B. Edna wonders if the house feels different, and the Historical Society finds a map that shows everything in the house. Poppy and Bridget see that they are Vampirina's magical boo-prints.
The Historical Society then enter a closet, despite Poppy and Bridget's protest. In Transylvania, the Hauntleys return with Nanpire, Grandpop, Bones, Demi, Puffers, and Gregoria joining in. The Hauntleys wonder where Vampirina is, knowing that leaving Pennsylvania was a big deal for them. Demi and Gregoria check on Vampirina, who misses her friends, her room, sleeping at night, and everything about Pennsylvania. She then receives a bat-chat from Poppy and Bridget, and tells them that she won't give up on the Hauntleys returning. Poppy and Bridget have a problem: Pennsylvania is raining cats and frogs and they think the magic is coming from the Scare B&B. Vampirina knows of the booprints and the skeleton key, and finds out that the house created a new secret room. Poppy wonders why it created the Vault of Monster Magic, and Vampirina realizes she asked it to.
Vampirina then decides for the Hauntleys to go back to Pennsylvania to stop the mayhem and show everyone there's nothing to be afraid of. The Scare B&B created the room to help the Hauntleys. Vampirina tells everyone how they can show the humans that monsters aren't so bad. It was scary for the Hauntleys being treated like monsters, which Vampirina doesn't want to feel again, and they will face their fears and be themselves. They will prove that even though they're different, they're not scary. Vampirina knows what to do to take care of the magic, and the Hauntleys then head back to Pennsylvnia.
Once there, they see what's going on regarding the monster magic. Poppy and Bridget are glad that Vampirina came back, and she finds the Vault of Monster Magic with everyone else. The house created the room as a way to make sure that humans think that being a monster is magical. Vampirina decides for her friends to show the humans everything that's spookiful about the monster world. She shows some examples, and everyone gathers them up. Nanpire and Grandpop will tame the critter storm with Edgar recording everything for Weekly Weirdness. With everyone joining in, the humans are convinced that monsters are magical and are no longer afraid of flying. Vampirina and her friends then convince the Historical Society to ride brooms, and they eventually like it.
With all of the bubbles gathered around the top of the Scare B&B, Nanpire casts a spell to make the neighborhood back to normal. Vampirina tells the Historical Society that the fireworks are the magic of monsters. They are provided treats, and conclude it is incredible. Vampirina and her friends then see everyone getting along with the monsters and loving the monster magic. Vampirina tells Edna that although the Hauntleys are monsters, it's okay. She sings about the humans seeing that monsters are the same friends they've always been, and they know all that the Hauntleys are, and they will never change. Edna apologizes for being scared, and concludes that she loves the Hauntleys, followed by the other humans. The Hauntleys then decide to stay in Pennsylvania, and they are here to stay. The next day, the Hauntleys are provided with the Golden Keystone Award, which is placed on the Scare B&B's entrance. Mr. Gore tells Oxana and Boris to say a few words, but Vampirina takes the stage, as she's the reason why the Hauntleys are back home. Vampirina tells everyone that the Scare B&B will always be a place for them, no matter how different they are. Everyone applauds the speech, ending the series.
