Hong Chau is a Thai-born American actress, who is best know for her role as Ngoc Lan Tran in the film Downsizing and for playing Liz in The Whale, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. She is also known for playing Jade in Inherent Vice, Jo in Showing Up, Polly in Asteroid City, and Diane Farr in The Night Agent.
For Disney, she played Theresa in the Good Luck Charlie "Welcome Home" and Opal Koboi in the Disney+ film Artemis Fowl. She also portrayed Elsa in the 2022 Searchlight Pictures film The Menu, as well as Sarah, Sharon, and Aka in Kinds of Kindness.
