Hop the Grasshopper is the main character of the 1934 Silly Symphony cartoon, The Grasshopper and the Ants.

Role in the filmEdit

The Grasshopper fiddles and plays through his day, tempting some of the worker ants to play with him, unaware that winter is coming and food will soon be scarce.

  • Pinto Colvig would go on to become the voice of Goofy whose signature tune is the song Hop made famous: "The World Owes Us a Livin'." Goofy can be heard humming it as late as 1950.
