The Hound Dog is a character from the America Sings attraction at Disneyland.
History[]
Background[]
The Hound Dog is an anthropomorphic dog. In the "Modern Times" sequence of the attraction, he will be seen in the song "Hound Dog" which was sung by the Porcupine, Rooster, and Crane.
Development History[]
The Hound Dog character was created for the America Sings attraction at Disneyland in the Tomorrowland section, where he was placed in the "Modern Times" sequence where he is seen for the song "Hound Dog", which opened on June 29, 1974. However, America Sings closed on April 10, 1988 in order to retheme the attraction to Innoventions, with most of the animatronics moved to Splash Mountain at the Critter Country section, which opened on July 17, 1989. However, the Hound Dog's animatronic was not moved to Splash Mountain for unknown reasons.
Role in the attraction[]
The Hound Dog was featured during the former attraction's final act, "Modern Times", where he could be seen in "Hound Dog", where the Porcupine, Rooster, and Crane were singing the song. He and the other singers take part in the finale "Joy to the World" just before the show ends.
