How to Be a Rock Star is an animated short starring Goofy, originally featured in the House of Mouse episode "Music Day".
Synopsis[]
Goofy tries to become a rock star with the help of a narrator (voiced by Corey Burton).
Plot[]
Goofy is sitting on a bench all alone, crying loudly. When the narrator asks him why he is so sad, he replies that he's lonely, has no friends and getting some is just plain impossible. The narrator says that it will not be impossible if he is a rock star, intriguing Goofy.
The narrator first explains the steps of image, starting by rock star hair, meaning having ridiculously long hair, but Goofy ends up having an hairstyle that is too long and can't see anything, forcing him to remove the mass of hair with a pair of scissors, then he makes a hair joke ("Talk about splittin' hairs"). This step is then followed by proper clothing and jewelry, and then with playing music. Goofy tries to play the guitar, but it's on the other way and ends up turning himself, accidentally lose his grip on the guitar when he goes back into position and get his hands stuck beneath the strings. Next part is song writing, where Goofy struggles with coming up with proper song lyrics other than the word "squirrel".
After Goofy writes a song, he signs the contract from a record executive, who loved the sound of Goofy's "singing voice" when the latter accidentally let out his signature holler when trying to get his attention from outside the studio, where they both produce a rap number made entirely out of Goofy's signature holler and catchphrase "Ahyuck!" and the word "squirrel" being repeated over and over while remixed to hip-hop disco music.
But unfortunately for them, the executive gets fired for greenlighting said rap number and the whole studio goes bankrupt. The executive is sad, but Goofy cheers him up by saying that at least they are not alone. In that moment, the mass of hair that Goofy had cut earlier runs past them and is chased by people as Goofy makes another hair joke ("Hairy Manilow").
