"I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" is a novelty song composed in 1944 (as "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Cocoanuts") by Fred Heatherton, a songwriting pseudonym for a collaboration of English songwriters Harold Elton Box, Desmond Cox, and Lewis Ilda. The song was published by Box and Cox Publications (ASCAP).
A portion of the song appeared in Disney's 1994 animated film, The Lion King (sung by Rowan Atkinson). Nicolas Cage also sang part of this song in National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Lyrics
Down at an English fair, one evening I was there
When I heard a showman shouting underneath the flare
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts
(They're lovely)
There they are, all standing in a row
(One, two, three, four)
Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head
(And bigger)
Give 'em a twist, a flick of the wrist
That's what the showman said
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Every ball you throw will make me rich
There stands me wife, the idol of me life
Singing roll up, bowl a ball, a penny a pitch
Singing roll up, bowl a ball, a penny a pitch
Singing roll up, bowl a ball, a penny a pitch
Roll up, bowl a ball
Roll up, bowl a ball
Singing roll up, bowl a ball, a penny a pitch
[Repeat last three lines]
Singing roll up, bowl a ball, a penny a pitch
