I Got It is the seventh and penulimate episode of Win or Lose. It centers on Kai whose height and expectations are represented by her literally floating and sinking.
Kai has recently moved to Peaks Valley with her father, James, and hopes to use the move as a fresh start. Finding a new circle of friends on the local softball team, Kai loves the camaraderie on and off the field. For the first time in a long time, she feels right at home—her joy is decidedly uplifting. She’s already a star player, but her father pressures her to practice harder and fight for perfection in the sport. In the week leading up to the championship game, an injury nearly sidelines Kai, who feels she must push through the pain to usher in a win for her team.[1]
Initially, the main plotline of this episode was going to involve Kai's identity as a transgender girl, with Chanel Stewart, who herself is trans, being cast in the role. However, in December 2024, it was announced that the storyline would be removed and certain scenes and lines of dialogue would be cut, which received great pushback from critics and Stewart.[2]
Despite this decision, remnants of the storyline are still present in the episode, including Kai having socks with the colors of the trans pride flag, her scratching off her name on her old baseball glove, hiding her childhood photos, and being excited about joining a co-ed sports team.
In the same scene, a toy version of the Pizza Planet Truck appears on her shelf.
Kai's line "Hand on my dog, Slinky" is a reference to Slinky Dog from the Toy Story franchise.
In one scene, Yuwen shouted that he had a beast inside him, and then he tore off his shirt. This is reminiscent of the promotional video for Win or Lose, Mini Mic Moment. Interestingly, Yuwen is dressed in the same outfit as he was in that video.
