"If This Be My Destiny..." is the tenth and final episode of season one of the Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. It premiered on February 19, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Peter's internship takes a dark turn with the arrival of an unexpected visitor.
Plot[]
Peter is now readjusted to his new life, with Nico now covering for Peter, and his relationship with her and Pearl improving significantly. With Spider-Man gaining positive attention, Peter reunites with Jeanne, Asha, and Amadeus as Osborn meets with the group to reveal what he has really been doing with their individual projects. It turns out that the has been developing an intergalactic portal that could reach to the ends of the galaxy. Connors is shocked by this revelation, as are Peter, Jeanne, and Asha, though Amadeus admits that he figured it out a while back.
As Osborn orders Wittman to open the portal, Doctor Strange arrives to deter them from continuing onward. When Peter identifies him as the one who was there when Midtown was destroyed, Osborn angrily berates him, though Strange claims to not know what they are talking about. Osborn moves forward with the test and opens a portal, releasing the same Symbiotic creature that attacked the school. Everyone flees the lab with Peter suiting up to aid Strange in battling the creature. During the fight, one of the spiders that Oscorp experimented on breaks loose.
Peter attempts to work on the machine, while Strange redirects the creature through another portal, with the small spider following. It turns out that the fight from the first day of school was the result of this event. Strange had accidentally time traveled to that moment. He manages to wrangle the creature back in, not noticing the spider falling through. Peter and Strange manage to knock the symbiote back through the portal and shut it, though a small piece of the symbiote falls through.
The event of the accident goes all over the news with Osborn performing damage control of the situation. Peter admits that he no longer will work as an intern at Oscorp as he cannot handle the secrets Osborn kept from him. When Harry comments that he would have just let them do whatever they wanted to do, Nico sarcastically suggests that he start his own company. Harry realizes that he can, due to the connections he has made online, and agrees to starting a small company for young geniuses, which he ultimately calls Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.). Peter later meets with Strange with the latter telling him that he is ready for what's ahead.
At Oscorp, Osborn finds the small piece of symbiote. Harry puts an invite out to numerous W.E.B. hopefuls. Asha enthusiastically accepts, while Amadeus turns it down in favor of a position at Oscorp. Jeanne, who is revealed to be Daredevil's protégé under the name Finesse, decides to take Harry's invite. Lonnie also apparently accepts Harry's offer, though he continues to lead the One Tenths and appears to be developing vitiligo, turning his back on his football career. Nico is revealed to be using witchcraft which she does to communicate with her mother. Otto draws schematics for what will eventually be his robotic tentacles. May goes to the prison to visit someone, revealed to be Peter's father Richard.
With his life seemingly back to normal, Peter continues his heroics as Spider-Man.

- The title is a reference to the comic book storyline of the same name, which famously saw Spider-Man, following a battle with Doctor Octopus, get pinned under rubble before he summons the strength to free himself. This moment was famously adapted in an episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man and the film Spider-Man: Homecoming.
- Norman mentions the events of the first Thor film and the Chitauri invasion from The Avengers.
- When battling Spider-Man & Doctor Strange, the Symbiote turns into a ball of charging tentacles, similar to the Symbiote Strike move used in Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 video game.
- One of the memes that Harry looks at is a selfie of him by the Oscorp Tower, with fire emojis covering it. This may be a homage to the "Disaster Girl" meme, featuring a young girl staring at the camera with a structure fire behind her.
