If We Were Talkin' is a song from "A Wood Divided," an episode of The Book of Pooh. Rabbit and Tigger had an argument and refused to speak to each other again. Piglet tried to help them resolve their argument, and they sang this song to him. The whole cast joined in at the end of the song.
Lyrics[]
Tigger:
If we were talkin', which we aren't
I'd have nuthin' to say
To a guy who puts toe-mah-toes
In a bouncing Tigger's way
I guess he's never heard before
A bridge is not a grocery store
Rabbit:
If we were talking, which were aren't
Since that nasty somersault
I'd say I'm sorry that our accident
Was totally his fault
And if he asks, here's what I mean
A bridge is not a trampoline
Tigger:
If we were talkin'
Rabbit:
If we were talking
Tigger:
You see how bad it would be
Rabbit:
We'd only disagree
Tigger:
Right
Tigger and Rabbit:
If I were talking to him
And he were talking to me
Piglet: But you didn't mean for this to happen did you?
Rabbit: Of course not. Haven't you been listening to what I haven't been saying?
Tigger: Sheesh.
Rabbit:
If we were talking
I'd say sorry his world record was a bust
Tigger:
And I'd tell Rabbit it's a pity
His toe-mah-toe bit the dust
Yeah, it's a shame
Rabbit:
But not a crime
Tigger:
Dat neither of us could stop in time
Rabbit:
If we were talking
Tigger:
If we were talkin'
Tigger and Rabbit:
If were talking to him
And he were talking to me
Piglet: But if you were talking, couldn't you work this out?
Rabbit: Of course.
Tigger: But we're not talkin.
Rabbit: Exactly. I mean...
If we were talking
I'd tell Tigger t-that I'm sorry for our strife
Tigger:
And I'd tell Rah-Rah I kinda miss his persnickety outlook on life
