On October 7, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Searchlight Pictures was developing a science-fiction film directed by Andrew Stanton and written by Colby Day.^[1] Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones, Daveed Diggs, Jorge Vargas, Tanaya Beatty and Skywalker Hughes joined the cast in undisclosed roles.^[2]^[3]^[4]
